Clases en la escuela "Tras Cámara" - Classes at the “Tras Cámara” school (ESP/ENG)

Hola amigos, espero que todos estén bien por acá. Hoy les cuento sobre una experiencia junto a @peinetaspro El sábado pasado se dictó la clase de dirección de actores por el profesor @mundomanaure. La verdad me gustó bastante asistir este día, está es una parte de las áreas que más me cuesta abordar a la hora de dirigir.
He dirigido pocos proyectos, me gusta mucho más el área de fotografía e iluminación, sin embargo, siento que es sumamente necesario aprender a desenvolverse en todas las áreas y no me cierro a la posibilidad de dirigir mis proyectos, pero sinceramente siento que es un poco complicado para mí.

Hello friends, I hope you are all doing well. Today I want to tell you about an experience I had with @peinetaspro. Last Saturday, Professor @mundomanaure taught a class on directing actors. I really enjoyed attending this class, as this is one of the areas I find most difficult to tackle when directing.
I've directed few projects; I much prefer photography and lighting. However, I feel it's extremely necessary to learn how to handle all areas, and I'm not closing myself off to the possibility of directing my projects, but honestly, I feel it's a bit complicated for me.

Este pasado sábado estuve apoyando desde la parte de la iluminación en la escuela "Tras de Camara" a Manaure en su clase de dirección de actores, también asistieron los compañeros @jorgetenzi @sgarciacine . Ese día el profesor planteó desarrollar un cortometraje de dos páginas donde los estudiantes se turnarían para desenvolverse en la dirección de actores. El actor que participó en este ejercicio es de UNEARTE, bailarín de danza contemporánea, por lo que venía empapado de muchas técnicas a nivel de corporalidad, esto ayudó muchísimo a los estudiantes, ya que no hubo que repetir tantas tomas.

This past Saturday, I was assisting with lighting at the Tras de Camara school in Manaure during an acting class. My colleagues @jorgetenzi and @sgarciacine also attended. That day, the teacher proposed developing a two-page short film in which the students would take turns directing the actors. The actor who participated in this exercise is from UNEARTE, a contemporary dancer, so he was well versed in many techniques related to physicality. This helped the students a lot, as there was no need to repeat so many takes.

Todo fluyó de manera correcta, la clase se extendió un poco más de lo esperado, pero siento que es normal tomando en cuenta que es el primer rodaje de los estudiantes. En todo momento el equipo de Peinetas estuvo asesorandolos y haciendo correcciones.

Everything went smoothly. The class went on a little longer than expected, but I think that's normal considering it was the students' first shoot. The Peinetas team was there the whole time, advising them and making corrections.

Por otro lado y aunque en esta ocasión me encontraba siendo parte del equipo docente, nunca se deja de aprender, agradezco a @mundomanaure por haberme invitado a esta clase, ya que pude aprender varias técnicas sobre la dirección de actores. Una de las técnicas que más llamo mi atención y que pienso abordar cuando tenga la oportunidad, es la respiración. Manaure comentaba sobre la importancia de la respiración en el actor, cómo ésta marca la intención y el ritmo dando diferentes matices a la acción y el diálogo, de verdad que esto me ayudó muchísimo a comprender por qué algunas acciones salen del ritmo que teníamos en mente o por qué ciertos diálogos a veces no terminan de cuajar o encajar en la escenas. No basta con dar una acción y evocar un sentimiento, es saber conocer al actor y establecer un vínculo que le permita aflorar lo que el personaje necesita, es pensar no en una, si no en todas las técnicas que conozcamos para abordar al actor dependiendo de sus características.

On the other hand, and although on this occasion I was part of the teaching team, you never stop learning. I am grateful to @mundomanaure for inviting me to this class, as I was able to learn several techniques about directing actors. One of the techniques that caught my attention the most and that I plan to address when I have the opportunity is breathing. Manaure commented on the importance of breathing for actors, how it marks intention and rhythm, giving different nuances to action and dialogue. This really helped me understand why some actions fall out of the rhythm we had in mind or why certain dialogues sometimes don't quite gel or fit into the scenes. It is not enough to give an action and evoke a feeling; it is about knowing the actor and establishing a bond that allows them to bring out what the character needs. It is about thinking not about one, but about all the techniques we know to approach the actor depending on their characteristics.

Todos los días se aprende, y aquí impartiendo el módulo de iluminación sigo aprendiendo tanto de la interacción con los estudiantes como de las áreas con las que no he tenido tanta relación, gracias al conocimiento de mis compañeros. Agradezco muchísimo está oportunidad de aprendizaje y enseñanza. Sin más que agregar en esta ocasión, me despido y espero muy pronto compartir más sobre el proceso de la escuela "Tras de Cámara" en Guarena.

Every day is a learning experience, and here, teaching the lighting module, I continue to learn both from interacting with the students and from areas I am less familiar with, thanks to the knowledge of my colleagues. I am very grateful for this opportunity to learn and teach.
