Festival Venezolano de Cortometrajes Universitarios - Venezuelan University Short Film Festival (ESP/ENG)

Hola hivers y artistas de la comunidad de Bellas Artes, espero se encuentren de maravilla y en grandes procesos creativos. Les cuento amigos, este martes se inauguró la segunda edición del Festival Venezolano de Cortometrajes Universitarios y tuve el gusto de asistir a este evento.

Hello hivers and artists of the Fine Arts community, I hope you are doing great and in great creative processes. I tell you friends, this Tuesday the second edition of the Venezuelan University Short Film Festival was inaugurated and I had the pleasure of attending this event.

Ésto se llevó a cabo en las salas de Cinepic ubicado en el Sambil de la candelaria. Me encontraba esperando para ingresar a la sala y me agradó muchísimo ver qué están participando estudiantes de la UNEARTE, hay una población universitaria muy activa que está intentando a través de todos los medios posibles hacer cine de calidad. Fue un gusto encontrarme con Vladimir Sosa presidente de la Cinemateca y con quién he tenido el gusto de trabajar, también pude ver a la profesora Giovanna Proaño, ella siempre recuerda a sus estudiantes. Estaba presente en este encuentro Carlos Azpúrua presidente del CNAC, también las autoridades de Cinepic y la Cinemateca Nacional.

This took place in the vicinity of Cinepic located in the Sambil de la Candelaria, I was waiting to enter the room and I was very pleased to see that UNEARTE students are participating, there is a very active university population that is trying through all possible means to make quality films. It was a pleasure to meet Vladimir Sosa, president of the Cinemateca and with whom I have had the pleasure of working, I could also see Professor Giovanna Proaño, she always remembers her students. Carlos Azpurua, president of CNAC, was present at this meeting, as well as the authorities of Cinepic and the National Cinematheque.

Este festival es organizado por Amazonia Films y la gente de Kreaton producciones. Es entusiasmante ver qué se está buscando la manera de dar visibilidad a los nuevos talentos del cine nacional, mientras más se enriquezca la producción, más posibilidades tenemos de que en algun momento el cine se convierta en industria.

This festival is organized by Amazonia Films and the people of Kreaton productions. It is exciting to see that they are looking for a way to give visibility to the new talents of the national cinema, the more the production is enriched, the more possibilities we have that at some point the cinema will become an industry.

En este primer encuentro pudimos visualizar los dos cortometrajes ganadores de la edición pasada, quedé bastante sorprendida y convencida de lo competente que somos los jóvenes para transformar los pocos elementos técnicos que tenemos a la mano con mucha creatividad y estudio, en un rico lenguaje cinematográfico que habla de nuestra esencia. El festival se prolongó por el resto de la semana con la proyección de los 24 cortos que participaron en esta edición y culminó el viernes, lamentablemente no pude asistir al cierre pero me complace saber qué está ocurriendo en las universidades a nivel de producción cinematográfica. Sin más que agregar me despido, gracias por leer hiver amante, curioso e investigador del arte.

In this first meeting we were able to view the two winning short films of the last edition, I was quite surprised and convinced of how competent we young people are to transform the few technical elements we have at hand with a lot of creativity and study in a rich film language that speaks of our essence. The festival continued for the rest of the week with the screening of the 24 short films that participated in this edition and culminated on Friday, unfortunately I could not attend the closing but I am pleased to know what is happening in universities at the level of film production.
