Hay un canal de Youtube muy famoso que se llama "Te lo resumo así no más", donde su creador se dedica a resumir películas y/o series de una forma divertida, pero también nos da su opinión al respecto, dicho esto, ¡soy fan del canal! 😅 Entonces, mientras veía uno de sus videos quise seguir una de sus recomendaciones en cuanto películas de terror: "A tale of two sisters".
Una de mis hermanas, mi esposo y yo, nos encargamos de descargar la película, preparar las cotufas y nos sumergimos en este film con muchas espectativas, con la esperanza de que lograra atraparnos. |
There is a very famous Youtube channel called "Te lo resumo así no más", where its creator is dedicated to summarize movies and / or series in a funny way, but also gives us his opinion about it, that said, I'm a fan of the channel! So, while watching one of his videos I wanted to follow one of his horror movie recommendations: "A tale of two sisters".

La historia, dirigida por Jee-woon Kim, comienza mostrándonos a Soo-mi bae(Lim Soo-jung) quién es la hermana mayor, recluida en un hospital psiquiátrico y está siendo entrevistada por un doctor que está interesado en saber qué pasó en su vida para que llegara a ese lugar.
En este punto, podremos ver su vida antes de ser recluida y todo parte desde el momento en que volvieron a vivir a su casa de crianza, decisión que más adelante se darán cuenta, que fué un gran error por parte de su padre. |

Si hay un personaje frustrante en la historia es Moo-hyeon Bae(el padre), porque es un tipo sin carácter, desinteresado por su familia, no sabe qué pasa en su casa, prácticamente vive en su mundo y, como espectadora, me dieron ganas de atravesar la pantalla y ahorcarlo por ser tan incompetente 😅
También me llenó de ansiedad que a medida que se desarrollaba la trama, se acumulaban más y más dudas, y nos puso a crear diferentes escenarios de lo que nos quería transmitir el director. Cada vez que creíamos que habíamos descubierto lo que pasó en realidad, la historia daba un giro que anulaba nuestra conclusión. |
If there is one frustrating character in the story it is Moo-hyeon Bae(the father), because he is a spineless guy, disinterested in his family, doesn't know what's going on at home, practically lives in his world and, as a viewer, it made me want to go through the screen and hang him for being so incompetent 😅.
It also filled me with anxiety that as the plot unfolded, more and more doubts accumulated, and it set us up to create different scenarios of what the director wanted to convey to us. Every time we thought we had figured out what really happened, the story took a twist that overturned our conclusion. |

Lo que si les puedo decir es que no calificaría a este película en el género de terror, sino más bien de suspenso psicológico. Hay escenas que visualmente pueden dar algo de miedo, pero en su mayoría la película trata es revelar por qué esa casa guarda un sentimiento de culpa tan grande, que sus habitantes ven y sienten cosas sobrenaturales.
En general, la fotografía de la película compagina perfectamente con el género, la ambientación, vestuario y música, le dan un toque de misterio y tristeza, pero no pasa nada que se pueda considerar terrorífico. |
What I can tell you is that I would not qualify this film in the horror genre, but rather psychological suspense. There are scenes that visually can be a little scary, but for the most part the film is about revealing why that house holds such a strong sense of guilt, that its inhabitants see and feel supernatural things.
In general, the film's cinematography perfectly matches the genre, the setting, costumes and music give it a touch of mystery and sadness, but nothing happens that could be considered terrifying. |

El final tiene un plot twist importantísimo, la verdad ninguno se esperaba que lo que sucedió en realidad fuera de esa manera, teníamos algunas sospechas, pero no dimos exactamente en el clavo y eso es positivo para una película de este tipo. Tiene una carga dramática que logró conmoverme, pero también me llenó rencor.
A pesar de que nos gustó, le doy un puntaje de 7 ⭐, ya que hay muchas cosas que quedaron sin explicación y me molestan las historias a medias. El final solo nos mostró vidas llenas de culpa, desapego y maldad, ni una gota de esperanza, definitivamente da para reflexionar un buen rato. |
The ending has a very important plot twist, the truth is that no one expected that what really happened would be that way, we had some suspicions, but we did not hit the nail exactly on the head and that is positive for a film of this type. It has a dramatic charge that managed to move me, but it also filled me with resentment.
Although we liked it, I give it a score of 7 ⭐, since there are many things that were left unexplained and half stories bother me. The ending just showed us lives full of guilt, detachment and evil, not a drop of hope, definitely gives to reflect a good time. |

Imagino la tertulia después de ver la película. O quizá durante pudieron hacer conjeturas sobre ese misterio del cual hablas. Lo mejor es que disfrutaron la historia y un 7 está bien.
Hey! Total 🤣 Siempre que vemos una película así, comenzamos a aplicar nuestros conocimientos de detectives(pero versión Scooby Doo 🤭) para resolver el misterio... Tanto ver Discovery investigation tiene que servir de algo 😌

Esas películas por lo general son las mejores, las que te cambian una y otra vez la narrativa y no sabes que esperar de ellas xD me gusto tu reseña y saber que en verdad no es de terror (si parece de terror por la portada) 7/10 no esta nada mal pero si es cierto que molesta un poco los finales tan abiertos y cosas inconclusas, buen post.

Está película es genial, tiene más giros en la trama que una carrera de autos, no se sabe dónde comienza lo real y dónde termina lo irreal, la manera en que lograron manejar la historia fue exquisita, y sí, yo también quería cachetear al padre.
Jajajaja .... Total! Si te descuidas un momento, te puedes perder de algún suceso importante para la trama, hay que verla bien concentrado 😅 Gracias por pasar ✨
