Hola, cinéfilos y cinéfilas de Hive, el día de hoy les traigo la reseña de Coherence; una película del género de ciencia ficción estrenada en el año 2013 que dejó más preguntas que respuestas a los espectadores en su epoca, por ello, hoy me encargaré de mostrarles un análisis muy detallado de esta. Espero les guste.

La película trata acerca de un cometa que va a pasar cerca de la tierra, el cual, la ultima vez que paso, sucedieron cosas raras. Un grupo de 8 amigos se reúnen para disfrutar de una cena de acción de gracias y mientras lo hacen, se ponen a hablar del tema.

Uno de ellos menciona un caso que pasó la ultima vez que pasó el cometa, el cual es el de una mujer que la mañana después que del suceso, llama a la policía y le dice que la persona que está con ella en su casa no es su esposo. En ese momento, la policía va e investiga el caso y llegan a la conclusión de que definitivamente si lo era; la mujer insiste en que no lo es, ya que ella lo había asesinado la noche pasada en el evento del cometa. La policía al pensar que la mujer estaba completamente confundida, hace caso omiso y se va.

The movie is about a comet that is going to pass near the earth, which, the last time it passed, strange things happened. A group of 8 friends get together to enjoy a Thanksgiving dinner and while doing so, they start talking about it.

One of them mentions a case that happened the last time the comet happened, which is that of a woman who, the morning after the event, calls the police and tells them that the person who is with her in her house is not her husband. At that point, the police go and investigate the case and come to the conclusion that it definitely was; the woman insists that it is not, since she had killed him the night before at the comet event. The police, thinking the woman was completely confused, ignore her and leave.

Después de esta historia, el evento del cometa empieza y se va la luz, entonces el grupo de amigos se percata de que como a dos cuadras de donde están ellos, hay una casa con luz; lo raro de esto es que todo el vecindario está en tinieblas excepto esa casa. En ese momento uno de ellos empieza a decir que debe ir a la casa a pedir prestado un teléfono, ya que dice que es importante comentarle al hermano todo lo que estaba pasando, debido a que éste le había advertido que si algo raro pasaba, se lo comunicara.

Muchos de ellos no quisieron ir, así que dos de ellos son los que se atreven. Ellos van y vuelven con una caja; uno de ellos vuelve golpeado y algo nervioso, pero el otro no sabe porqué, entonces empiezan a alarmarse y a preguntar que era lo que había pasado, pero al no obtener una respuesta, deciden abrir la caja y descubren que ésta, tenia fotos de ellos con números en el reverso. Aquí se empiezan a preguntar el porque una casa que está a dos cuadras de la de ellos, tiene una caja con fotos de ellos. Entonces el que llegó golpeado se porta algo extraño, entonces ellos al pensar que sabe algo, lo obligan a decirlo.

After this story, the comet event begins and the power goes out, then the group of friends notices that about two blocks from where they are, there is a house with light; the strange thing about this is that the whole neighborhood is in darkness except that house. At that moment one of them begins to say that he should go to the house to borrow a telephone, since he says that it is important to tell his brother everything that was happening, because he had warned him that if something strange happened, he should tell him.

Many of them did not want to go, so two of them are the ones who dare. They go and come back with a box; one of them comes back beaten and a little nervous, but the other one doesn't know why, so they start to get alarmed and ask what had happened, but not getting an answer, they decide to open the box and discover that it had pictures of them with numbers on the back. Here they begin to wonder why a house two blocks away from theirs has a box with pictures of them on it. Then the one who arrived beaten behaves strangely, so they think he knows something, so they force him to tell them.

Él admite que cuando fueron a la casa el quería ver quienes estaban ahí adentro y dijo que los había visto a todos ellos, al grupo de amigos, sentados bebiendo vino. Obviamente todos quedaron atónitos y en un momento determinado ellos se van y los dos que salieron se llevan la caja adonde la encontraron.

A partir de ahí ellos tratan de descubrir que es lo que pasa, entonces encuentran un libro que habla acerca de la gravedad, pero menciona algo de dimensiones paralelas y ahí logran descifrar lo que está pasando.

He admits that when they went to the house he wanted to see who was in there and said that he had seen all of them, the group of friends, sitting around drinking wine. Obviously they were all stunned and at a certain point they leave and the two who left take the box back to where they found it.

From there they try to find out what is going on, then they find a book that talks about gravity, but it mentions something about parallel dimensions and there they manage to decipher what is happening.

Luego de darse cuenta que muchos de los integrantes del grupo no pertenecían a la casa en la que estaban, deciden marcar la casa para saber de donde vienen todos los que estan ahí, así que tienen la maravillosa idea de tomar fotos de ellos y ponerle un numero detrás basado en el número que les salga al tirar un dado, más un objeto random que ellos encuentren, para ponerlo en una caja junto con las fotos, justo así como la caja que ellos encontraron al principio de la película.

After realizing that many of the members of the group did not belong to the house they were in, they decide to mark the house to find out where everyone in it came from, so they have the wonderful idea to take pictures of them and put a number on the back based on the number they get when rolling a die, plus a random object they find, to put it in a box along with the pictures, just like the box they found at the beginning of the movie.

Sucede que ya cada uno tiene su numero y Emily nota unos apuntes y asegura que es su letra, pero ella nota que lo que ella escribió no está ahí si no que es otra cosas, así que ella le pregunta a cada uno de los que estan ahí; Mike, Hugh, Lee, Kevin, a todos, que si recuerdan el numero que tenia la foto de cada uno cuando vieron las fotos al principio de la película. Entonces, cada uno da un numero diferente al que ella recuerda y ahí es donde todo se vuelve turbio, porque ahí ella se da cuenta de algo muy importante que te cambia la visión que tenias de la película. Ella se lo comenta a Mike y le dice que cada vez que alguien sale de la casa, no vuelve a la realidad en la que anteriormente estaba, lo que hace es transportarse a otra realidad, por ello, cuando se vuelve a entrar en el lugar se ve todo aparentemente igual.

Lo anterior quiere decir que cada personaje que salió a la calle y volvió, no era de esa realidad, por eso cuando los dos que se fueron al principio (Hugh y Amir) se van y se llevan la caja se puede ver que ellos tienen una luz roja envés de la luz azul que todos tienen, lo que significa que la película no es como se pensaba; se pensaba que había que había dos realidad juntas, pero en realidad son infinitas realidades juntas.

It happens that everyone has their own number and Emily notices some notes and assures that it is her handwriting, but she notices that what she wrote is not there but it is something else, so she asks everyone there; Mike, Hugh, Lee, Kevin, everyone, if they remember the number that was on the photo of each one when they saw the photos at the beginning of the film. Then, each one gives a different number than the one she remembers and that's where everything becomes cloudy, because there she realizes something very important that changes the vision you had of the film. She tells Mike and tells him that every time someone leaves the house, he does not return to the reality in which he was before, what he does is to be transported to another reality, therefore, when you re-enter the place you see everything apparently the same.

This means that every character that went out and came back was not from that reality, that's why when the two that left at the beginning (Hugh and Amir) leave and take the box you can see that they have a red light instead of the blue light they all have, which means that the movie is not as it was thought; it was thought that there were two realities together, but in reality there are infinite realities together.

Se esperaría que todo volviera a la normalidad a la mañana siguiente después del paso del cometa, pero, no todo es tan normal ya que en esta realidad hay dos Emily, lo que significa que una realidad se quedo sin una Emily, pero ¿Por que sucedió esto? ¿Por que Emily decide cambiar de realidad?.

Buscarle una respuesta a las preguntas anteriores es complicado, pero una explicación podría ser la siguiente: Al principio de la película Emily y Kevin (el novio) tienen que hablar de algo muy importante que definiría su futuro, pues Kevin tenia pensado viajar por trabajo y quería ir con Emily, pero esta debía decidir. Emily realmente no sabia que hacer, así que Kevin asume que no quiere ir, por lo que se pone tenso el ambiente. Lo que hace Emily es buscar una realidad en la que acepto irse de viaje con Kevin para estar bien con el. Al final la encuentra, pero debe deshacerse de la Emily de esa realidad para así tomar su lugar, no lo logra y queda como la Emily impostora.

You would expect everything to go back to normal the next morning after the comet's passage, but, not everything is so normal since in this reality there are two Emily's, which means that one reality was left without an Emily, but why did this happen? Why did Emily decide to switch realities?

Finding an answer to the above questions is complicated, but an explanation could be the following: At the beginning of the movie Emily and Kevin (the boyfriend) have to talk about something very important that would define their future, because Kevin had planned to travel for work and wanted to go with Emily, but Emily had to decide. Emily didn't really know what to do, so Kevin assumes that she doesn't want to go, so the atmosphere becomes tense. What Emily does is look for a reality in which she agreed to go on the trip with Kevin to be okay with him. In the end she finds it, but she has to get rid of the Emily of that reality to take her place, she does not succeed and remains as the Emily impostor.

woah! I'm not normally much for sci-fi, but this sounds more like a thriller 😃 reminds me of a movie titled Parallel or Project Almanac, might watch this one too now 😁 thank you for sharing your review on this film!
