And the Rain Came Down - May 5, 2025 @goldenoakfarm

On Monday morning I wasn’t moving too fast. I got the post up and sat down. I got the laundry started and sat down.

Over the course of the day, I got it all washed and dried. In the evening my son went to start a load and there was water all over the floor. (see towel by dryer…) So I messaged the contractor and he’s going to pick up new hoses and maybe get to it by Wednesday.

At lunch time I went out and closed up the cold frame. I’d left it open so the seedlings would get watered.

I watched 2 movies in between loads of laundry.

I watched it rain and the grass grow even more….

Late afternoon I finally got downstairs and put the windows away before something happened to them.

While I was down there, I put the seedstarting equipment away too.

In the evening I remembered I was supposed to water the seedlings and check on the ones started on last Thursday. I managed to condense trays and adjust lights, but got no notes written. I was having trouble reading the labels, so I quit.

On Tuesday I need to get up and fix the labels so they can be read, make notes and have them ready for when my helper friend arrives. I’ll have him feed and water them. I need to finish the laundry, send him on errands, feed the house plants, and work on bills. And it’s to continue raining…
