Movie Review: Her Perfect Lie

The strongest foundation of any relationship is "Trust", but what happens when a strongest lie becomes more convincing than the years of love and trust? That's where Her perfect lies leaves viewers with.

The movie is about a couple who have been waiting patiently for the blessing of a child. Despite the pressure that is often associated with childlessness, they remain hopeful. He mother-in-law loves her so much and treats her like her daughter.

Everything changes when her roommate back then in school suddenly reappears. She told a slanderous lies that the lady can't have children because she no longer have a womb due to the abortion she did while in school.

Without asking for proof or giving the wife a chance to defend herself, the husband and his mother believe the stranger. The woman who had been part of their family for years suddenly becomes an outcast. Only her own family stands firmly by her.

Unknown to everyone, she is already nine weeks pregnant.

The most emotional part of the movie comes when she goes into labour. Instead of taking her to the hospital, her husband and mother-in-law ignore her, convinced she is pretending and planning to buy a baby.

At this point the mother-in-law felt cheated that her love and care where taken for granted. And her son was going be be without children.

Thankfully, her mother and sister arrive just in time, and her sister, who is a midwife, safely delivers the baby at home. The truth finally comes to light, exposing the terrible consequences of believing lies without seeking the truth.

The movie just reminded me that not everyone celebrating with you genuinely wants the best for you. Some people are envious and jealous of that smile you have on your face. And that can push them to destroy another person happiness.

At the same time, the movie emphasizes that trust should never be thrown away because of a single accusation. Relationships thrive on communication, understanding, and giving the people we love the benefit of the doubt.

My Rating: 7.5/10

So, if you enjoy emotional family dramas with meaningful lessons about trust, loyalty and love then perfect lies is worth the watch.
