Me encuentro por acá para participar en la competencia de esta semana referente a mi película favorita del género zombie.

I'll start by saying that I've been watching zombie movies practically since the beginning, with Night of the Living Dead, Zombie 2, Zombie Town, Return of the Living Dead and so on.

At the beginning they were horror movies that made an impact because of the violence and the dead hungry for fresh brains, with grotesque scenes full of blood. But, like all the sequels, other movies began to come out that did not cause fear but laughter, seeing those dead walking slowly with their faces smashed, or mutilated with exaggerated make-up.

Comenzaré diciendo que he visto películas de zombies prácticamente desde sus inicios, con la noche de los muertos vivientes, zombie 2, la ciudad de los zombies, el regreso de los muertos vivientes y pare de contar.
Al principio eran películas de terror que impactaban por la violencia y los muertos hambrientos de cerebros frescos, con grotescas escenas llenas de sangre. This is how we came to another type of film whose plot, despite being based on zombies, is different, more elaborate and with a sequence that keeps the viewer in suspense. Here the zombies are dead or mutants that move very fast and are very intelligent, capable of setting traps to catch humans.

This last genre of zombie movies is my favorite, because not only are they based on the dead coming back to life and seeking to devour the living, but the plot becomes interesting and adds a lot of suspense and realism to the scenes.

Así fue como llegamos a otro tipo de películas cuya trama, a pesar de estar basada en zombies, es diferente, más elaborada y con una secuencia que hace que el espectador se mantenga en suspenso. Aquí los zombies son muertos o mutantes que se mueven muy rápido y son muy inteligentes, capaces de armar trampas para atrapar a los humanos.

Dentro de esta categoría está la película "pet sematary" o cementerio de mascotas dirigida por Stephen King, protagonizada por Dale Midkiff, quien interpreta a Louis Creed, un padre de familia que se muda a una tranquila población con una hermosa casa de campo.
Allí todo es paz y armonía pero existe un peligro muy cercano: una carretera que pasa muy cerca de su propiedad en la cual circulan vehículos pesados a gran velocidad y por accidente arrollan a su gato.

The most touching scene that forms the center of the plot is undoubtedly when he loses his young son when he is run over by a truck and, moved by the pain of the loss, he decides to bury him in the cemetery hoping that he will come back to life. However, he never imagined how his son would return.

Creed se entera por su vecino que existe muy cerca de su casa un cementerio de mascotas y más allá un cementerio indio, donde, según la leyenda, todo aquel que es enterrado allí, vuelve a la vida. Decide entonces enterrar allí su gato para que vuelva a la vida y lo logra, pero regresa en forma de zombie y con muy malas intenciones.
La escena más conmovedora y que forma el centro de la trama es sin duda cuando pierde a su hijo pequeño al ser arrollado por un camión y, movido por el dolor de la pérdida, decide enterrarlo tambien en el cementerio esperando que resucite. Sin embargo nunca se imaginaria en la forma en que su hijo regresaría.

As I was saying, this kind of movies have other elements that distinguish them from the traditional zombie movies, which far from being scary are already boring. I liked the acting of its characters and the plot in general that keeps the viewer tied to the chair waiting for the final outcome.

I remember I saw this movie with my daughter and she found it too scary, so much so that she said she was impressed by the scenes.

Cómo les decía, este tipo de películas tienen otros elementos que las distinguen de las tradicionales películas de zombies, que lejos de asustar ya resultan aburridas. Me gustó la actuación de sus personajes y la trama en general que mantiene al espectador atado a la silla esperando su desenlace final.
Recuerdo que vi esta película con mi hija y a ella le pareció demasiado terrorífica, tanto así que dijo que había quedado impresionada por las escenas.
