In this opportunity I want to review a movie of the horror thriller genre that I saw again recently and is called: "don't breathe".

En esta oportunidad quiero reseñarles una película del género thriller de terror que volví a ver recientemente y lleva por nombre: "no respires".

The plot / La trama

Well, lovers of scary or horror movies, this 2016 film directed by Fede Alvarez, stars Stephen Lang, Jane Levy and Dylan Minnette and has as its central plot the robbery by three young criminals, to a house inhabited by a war veteran who is blind (Stephen Lang).

Once inside the house they try to subdue the blind man, but they realize that he is not as defenseless as they thought and he attacks them brutally not only to prevent the robbery, but to end their lives one by one.

It should be noted that the three young men were not beginners, they were used to carefully study their victims, unfortunately for them they got carried away by the fragile appearance of the blind man and were overconfident.

Pues bien amantes de las películas de miedo o terror, esta película del año 2016 dirigida por Fede Alvarez, está protagonizada por Stephen Lang, Jane Levy y Dylan Minnette y tiene como trama central el robo por parte de tres jóvenes delincuentes, a una vivienda habitada por un veterano de la guerra que es invidente (Stephen Lang).
Una vez dentro de la casa intentan someter al ciego, pero se dan cuenta que no es tan indefenso como pensaban y éste arremete contra ellos de manera brutal no solo para evitar el robo, sino para acabar con sus vidas uno por uno.
Es de hacer notar que los tres jóvenes no eran principiantes, estaban acostumbrados a estudiar con cuidado a sus víctimas, lamentablemente para ellos se dejaron llevar por la apariencia frágil del ciego y se confiaron demasiado.

My opinion / Mi opinión

In my opinion, this movie fulfills the expectations of the audience looking for suspense and horror movies. I don't want to go into detail to avoid spoilers, but I must tell you that the first time I saw it, I kept me tied to the chair and jumped several times in the strong scenes.

It is a movie for adult audiences, it contains bloody scenes and a lot of violence. I found the performances of the characters to be up to the task. Actor Lang comes from doing an excellent role in Avatar and the young Lane and Minnette also come with very favorable previous experiences.

Overall it is a good movie that entertains and keeps the viewer in suspense because of the many unexpected scenes in the plot.

En mi opinión, esta película llena las expectativas del público que busca películas de suspenso y terror. No quiero entrar en detalle para no hacer spoiler, pero debo decirles que la primera vez que la vi, me mantuve amarrado a la silla y salté varias veces en las escenas fuertes.
Es una película para público adulto, contiene escenas sangrientas y mucha violencia. Las actuaciones de los personajes me parecieron a la altura del compromiso. El actor Lang viene de hacer un excelente papel en Avatar y los jóvenes Lane y Minnette también vienen con experiencias anteriores muy favorables.
En general es una buena película que entretiene y mantiene en suspenso al espectador por la gran cantidad de escenas inesperadas que tiene la trama.

The outstanding ingredient in this film is suspense. There comes a moment when you don't know whether to side with the criminals who try to commit the robbery or with the victim, who tries to defend himself. And why is that? Simply because here the perpetrators become the victims.

This situation often occurs in real life. And in the case of the United States, the law favors the homeowner. If he takes the life of a criminal on his property, he will be acquitted if he proves that it was in "self-defense". Unfortunately, in my country, Venezuela, this is difficult to achieve, because if the thief has money and important influences, he generally tips the balance in his favor.

El ingrediente que destaca en esta película es el suspenso. Llega el momento en que no sabes si ponerte del lado de los delincuentes que tratan de cometer el robo o de la víctima, que trata de defenderse. ¿Y eso por qué? Sencillamente porque aquí los victimarios pasan a ser víctimas.
Esta situación suele ocurrir en la vida real. Y en el caso de los Estados Unidos, la ley favorece al propietario de la casa. Si éste le quita la vida a un delincuente dentro de su propiedad, saldrá absuelto si demuestra que fue en "defensa propia". Lamentablemente en mi país Venezuela eso es difícil que se cumpla, pues si el ladrón tiene dinero e influencias importantes, generalmente inclina la balanza a su favor.

Most of the plot takes place inside the blind veteran's home, and precisely because of his blindness, the scenes take place with very little light, which contributes even more to make the atmosphere of the film more gloomy and mysterious and makes the audience also able to participate as another character.

La mayor parte de la trama se desarrolla dentro de la vivienda del veterano ciego y precisamente por su ceguera, las escenas se desarrollan con muy poca luz, lo cual contribuye aun más a hacer más lúgubre y misterioso el ambiente del film y hace que el público también pueda participar como un personaje más.

Although this is not a film with amazing special effects, I believe that the makeup, especially that demonic appearance that Lang wears in his opaque eyes and the soundtrack, come together to achieve the goal: to keep the viewer in suspense and generate those moments that shock and frighten anyone.

Aunque no se trata de una película con asombrosos efectos especiales, considero que el maquillaje, sobretodo esa apariencia demoníaca que luce Lang en sus ojos opacos y la banda sonora, se unen para lograr el objetivo: mantener en suspenso al espectador y generar esos momentos que impactan y asustan a cualquiera.

In conclusión / En conclusión

Excellent if you are looking for a good suspense and horror movie. Highly recommended, with convincing performances and always keeps you waiting for the unpredictable.

The title of the film is very consistent with the plot, to the point that involves the viewer and introduces him into the scenes, making him live a little the experience of the characters and imagining that if he emits a sound, the blind man will find it wherever he hides.

It is not suitable for children because of its bloody and violent scenes, so if they are around, send them to bed early.

Excelente si lo que buscas es una buena película de suspenso y terror. Muy recomendada, con actuaciones convincentes y que siempre te mantiene a la espera de lo impredecible.
El título de la película está muy acorde a la trama, a tal punto que involucra al espectador y lo introduce dentro de las escenas, haciéndolo vivir un poco la experiencia de los personajes e imaginando que si emite algún sonido, el ciego lo va a encontrar donde se esconda.
No es apta para niños por sus escenas sangrientas y cargadas de violencia, así que si están cerca, envíelos a dormir temprano.
