The plot / La trama

Five young medical students meet in secret to work on an experiment. But it is not just any experiment of the career, but an idea that arose from one of them to experience firsthand what happens after death and be able to return to tell about it. One by one they go through the experience, but in doing so they awaken negative events or sins of their lives that begin to haunt them.

It is one of those movies that does not attract a large audience but serves as entertainment because of its interesting plot. It is a sequel that began with the film of the same name in 1990 and whose plot is quite similar.

Courtney has the idea of studying what lies beyond death, which attracts the attention of many because it is a mystery and because no one has returned from beyond the grave to tell us about their experience.

To this end, she encourages her classmates to help her die for a few minutes, stopping her heart and then, applying appropriate procedures, they must revive her and bring her back to the world of the living.

Es una de esas películas que no atrae mucho público pero que sirve como entretenimiento por su interesante trama. Es una secuela que comenzó con la película del mismo nombre del año 1990 y cuya trama es bastante similar.
Courtney tiene la idea de estudiar qué hay más allá de la muerte, lo que a muchos llama la atención por ser un misterio y porque nadie ha vuelto del más allá para contarnos su experiencia.
Para ello anima a sus compañeros de clase para que la ayuden a morir por unos minutos, deteniendo su corazón y luego, aplicando procedimientos adecuados, deberán revivirla y traerla de nuevo al mundo de los vivos.

After Courtney, she is followed by three of her companions in this macabre experiment, trying to uncover the mystery of death. Each of them has very different visions that lead them to awaken dark events from their past that they had already forgotten.

What none of them imagined was that this experience at the edge of death would unearth some traumas that would change their lives from now on and that they will have to face in a responsible and determined way.

Luego de Courtney, la siguen trés de sus compañeros en este macabro experimento, tratando de descubrir el misterio de la muerte. Cada uno de ellos tiene visiones muy diferentes que los llevan a despertar acontecimientos oscuros de su pasado que ya ellos habían olvidado.
Lo que ninguno se imaginaba era que esa experiencia al filo de la muerte iba a desempolvar algunos traumas que cambiarían sus vidas de ahora en adelante y que deberán afrontar de manera responsable y decidida.

In conclusion / En conclusión

It is not an award winning film but if you like this genre, it serves to keep you in suspense and fulfills the mission to entertain, as I said at the beginning.

I consider the performances of the characters as acceptable because they make the viewers get involved in the story.

It is a good plot considering that we will always be interested in delving into the mysterious and the unknown, even knowing that this discovery may have side effects.

Man has always been curious and likes to experiment to know those things that are not in sight and that call our attention powerfully, but we must keep in mind that the price of these discoveries can be very high, even costing us our lives.

One message we can take from this film is that there are mysteries that man, even with all the wisdom he possesses, will never be able to decipher. We must leave to Caesar what is Caesar's and to God what is God's (Matthew 22:21).

No es una película ganadora de premios pero si te gusta este género, sirve para mantenerte en suspenso y cumple con la misión de entretener, como dije al principio.
Considero las actuaciones de los personajes como aceptables porque hacen que los espectadores se involucren en la historia.
Es una buena trama considerando que siempre estaremos interesados en adentrarnos en lo misterioso y lo desconocido, aun a sabiendas que ese descubrimiento puede tener efectos secundarios.
El hombre siempre ha sido curioso y le gusta experimentar para conocer aquellas cosas que no están a la vista y que llaman poderosamente nuestra atención, pero hay que tener en cuenta que el precio de estos descubrimientos puede ser muy alto, llegando incluso a costarnos la vida.
Un mensaje que podemos sacar de esta película sería que existen misterios que el hombre, aun con toda la sabiduría que posee, jamás logrará descifrar. Hay que dejar al César lo que es del César y a Dios lo que es de Dios. (Mateo 22,21)
