The Film Project – A New Website for Movie Reviews
Many of you know me as a longtime Splinterlands player, but outside of the crypto and gaming world, I’ve always had another passion – movies. Over the years, I’ve spent just as much time watching films as I have battling on the Splinterlands battlefield.
Today, I’m really excited to share something I’ve been working on for months:
The Film Project – my new website dedicated to movie reviews.
What The Film Project Offers
The Film Project isn’t just about reviews – it’s a full platform for film lovers to engage, discover, and express their opinions. Here’s what you’ll find:
- Express Yourself – Write thoughtful reviews about films you love, hate, or find intriguing. Your voice matters here.
- Write in Any Language – Post reviews in your own language, and we’ll translate them and post them in both your language and English.
- Personalized Quizzes – Test your film knowledge with quizzes based on the movies you’ve rated and reviewed.
- QuickRate Movies – Quickly discover and rate random movies with our instant movie suggestion tool.
- Climb the Leaderboard – Gain recognition for your contributions and see how you rank among other reviewers.
- Vibrant Community – Join discussions with fellow film enthusiasts who share your passion for cinema.
- Import Your Collection – Bring your reviews from IMDb, TMDB, or Letterboxd and continue your film journey with us.
- Watch Classic Films – Stream curated, timeless movies from the public domain, right on our platform.
Why I Started This
I wanted to create a clean, community-focused platform for movie lovers, free from clutter and ads. Much like in Splinterlands, where strategy, time and attention matter, reviewing films is about finding meaning, appreciating the craft, and sharing opinions with others who care.
What’s Next?
This is only the beginning. We will be adding more reviews every week, expanding the platform’s features, and hopefully building a thriving community of passionate movie fans.
Check It Out!
If you enjoy movies as much as I do, I’d love for you to visit thefilmproject.org and let me know what you think. And just in case you are wondering, there is no token associated to The Film Project yet, but if there is ever going to be one, it will definitely be on Hive!
To be honest, my whole crypto journey has only been on Hive, thanks to Splinterlands, so if we ever decide to introduce a new token for The Film Project, you will know where to trade it 😉
