A late review of Swapped: good to watch with kids.

  Finally, I finished the season of Hell's Paradise, but since I already wrote a review and it wouldn't change much about the text, I will leave it and maybe release another review after I get access to season 2. But I figured out that I didn't write about "Swapped". I cited this Netflix production when I wrote about Hoppers from Pixar. Both use animals and Nature to analyse a bit of human nature. So here are my thoughts.

  The good thing about Netflix movies is that we don't need to wait for them to leave the theatres to watch them, so if you are a subscriber, you can watch them ASAP. I had a nice experience watching with the kids, and the movie really surprised me. Here we have a main story and a secondary story. The movie is animated and uses a magical world where you have animals that remember real existing creatures and magical biological fruits called pods made by Tree-like magical creatures called Dzo, that make these animals turn into other animals.

  So here we have this mammal/rodent like creature (Pookoo) that finds a pod and turns into a rival animal, similar to a bird/plant hybrid animal (Javans). There is this ancient rivalry about the food source between Pookoos and Javans. And this young Pookoo called Olie is guilty of presenting the food source to the Javans. And he blames Javans for the misery of his species. But when Olie (this Pookoo) becomes a Javan, he understands that Javans were almost extinct when he showed this new source of food when he was a Pookoo. And also the Javan that he became friends with also understands why they hated so much; they were leaving the Pookos without food.

  So basically we have this story of two sides of the story understanding some problems in each other's view of the same story. Both felt bad and started to solve. In the mean time the main story of the movie, we see the Firewolf trying to burn the forest because of his bitterness and trauma when he was just a regular tree wolf. So instead of trying to wearanother one'se shoes, he decided to go down a selfish and evil path to conquer the forest by fear. Lucky that Olie courage and friendship with other animals like the Javan bird led to a good ending. But this is the part of the story that I thought was more commonly found in other movies since we had the bad guy being selfish and motivated by an old trauma to perform evil and being defeated by the good ones.

  The main beautiful part of the movie is the part of the friendship between the Pookoo and the Javan, where we see each other trying to understand the different views of the story; maybe the creators wanted to give another part of the movie with this firewolf story just to fill more with more runtime. But it is a movie that is worth watching with your kids, especially since they are still trying to understand that their version of the story is not always the correct one.

 Finalmente, terminei a temporada de Hell's Paradise, mas como já escrevi uma resenha e não mudaria muito o texto, vou deixá-la de lado e talvez publicar outra depois de assistir à segunda temporada. Mas percebi que não escrevi sobre "Swapped". Mencionei essa produção da Netflix quando escrevi sobre Hoppers, da Pixar. Ambos usam animais e a natureza para analisar um pouco da natureza humana. Então, aqui estão minhas impressões.

  A vantagem dos filmes da Netflix é que não precisamos esperar que saiam dos cinemas para assisti-los. Se você é assinante, pode assistir assim que quiser. Tive uma ótima experiência assistindo com as crianças, e o filme realmente me surpreendeu. Temos uma história principal e uma secundária. O filme é animado e se passa em um mundo mágico onde os animais se lembram de criaturas reais e de frutos biológicos mágicos chamados vagens, produzidos por criaturas mágicas semelhantes a árvores, chamadas Dzo, que transformam esses animais em outros animais.

 Então, temos essa criatura semelhante a um mamífero/roedor (Pookoo) que encontra uma vagem e se transforma em um animal rival, semelhante a um híbrido de pássaro e planta (Javans). Existe uma antiga rivalidade pela fonte de alimento entre Pookoos e Javans. E esse jovem Pookoo, chamado Olie, é culpado por entregar a fonte de alimento aos Javans. E ele culpa os Javans pela miséria de sua espécie. Mas quando Olie (este Pookoo) se torna um Javan, ele entende que os Javans estavam quase extintos quando lhe mostraram essa nova fonte de alimento quando ele era um Pookoo. E o Javan, com quem ele fez amizade, também entende por que eles odiavam tanto; eles estavam deixando os Pookos sem comida.

 Basicamente, temos essa história de dois lados da história compreendendo alguns problemas sob a perspectiva um do outro. Ambos se sentiram mal e começaram a buscar soluções. Enquanto isso, na história principal do filme, vemos o Lobo de Fogo tentando queimar a floresta por causa de sua amargura e trauma de quando era apenas um lobo comum. Então, em vez de tentar se colocar no lugar do outro, ele decidiu seguir um caminho egoísta e maligno para conquistar a floresta pelo medo. Felizmente, a coragem de Olie e sua amizade com outros animais, como o pássaro Javan, levaram a um final feliz. Mas esta é a parte da história que eu achava mais comum em outros filmes, já que tínhamos o vilão sendo egoísta e motivado por um trauma antigo a praticar o mal, sendo derrotado pelos bons.

  A parte mais bonita do filme é a amizade entre o Pookoo e o Javan, onde os vemos tentando entender as diferentes versões da história; talvez os criadores quisessem incluir outra parte do filme com a história do lobo de fogo apenas para preencher mais tempo de exibição. Mas é um filme que vale a pena assistir com seus filhos, especialmente porque eles ainda estão tentando entender que a versão deles da história nem sempre é a correta.
