Finishing "Welcome to Derry", season 1.

  Yesterday I finished the 1st season of Welcome to Derry. And oh man, how I love Stephen King. The last episode ended, closing the first saga, the first IT cycle. They will bring two more seasons, as I understand, so probably we will have some overlaps with the movies? I am not sure, let's see. But the last episode was fantastic, bringing even some easter eggs. The previous week's episode was also considered by many as the best episode in a horror series. And the unbeatable alien in the series is an awful enemy.

  This first season was interesting to understand more about the IT background, how it came to Earth, what it is, and how it is confined to the small city of Derry. In the two movies, we don't understand much about this background since they happen after what happened in the first season. So we are talking about a powerful alien entity that originally is formed by rotating balls, but it can shapeshift into anything that scares you, the preferred one is the clown Pennywise, which also existed in the past and was eaten by this alien.

  In addition to shapeshifting the alien looks like having some sort of omnipresence like a god. It can communicate and appear whenever he wants in his range zone. In addition, in this last episode, he even mentions something about the future, so he exists in different time moments. Also, in the last episode, he refers to himself as "The Eater of Worlds". Recently, I talked about Marvel's Galactus entity, who is called the Eater of the Worlds. So is It more powerful than Galactus? I always think that these multiverses in sci-fi question comparisons are so terrible.

  So the moment that It talks about the future is not an expected moment. He mentions to the girl, Marge, one of the kids helping to fight him that he recognizes her and she is actually the mother of a kid called Richie. Richie is part of the Losers Club that appears as a kid in the first movie and later as an adult in the second movie. The creature also mentions that Richie is part of the gang that is going to kill him.

  Another interesting character in the series is Dick Halloran. An army secret weapon to find the creature that has supernatural powers. He has psychic powers, including seeing dead people. Or as Stephen King's universe likes to call it, "the shining". There is another great movie,an old one starring Jack Nicholson called "The Shining". I watched a long time ago and didn't remember that this character also appears in this movie. And in the end of the episode, Dick says that he is going to a hotel in London and he says "How much trouble a hotel can be?". The movie The Shining happens in a haunted hotel where he appears so this question really can be a mention to the movie.

  The season ends and the group fighting "It" won the battle, but we know that the war didn't end and in 27 years he will come back as the indigenous leader mentions. It was quite an exciting adventure where kids and adults got some role in fighting it. But the question is, wasn't it better to move the whole city in the next 27 years so there aren't any humans left in the area? Since the alien can't leave the area established by the meteor that brought it? Well, it would probably solve it, but the story ends right?

  Ontem terminei a primeira temporada de Welcome to Derry. E nossa, como eu amo Stephen King! O último episódio encerrou a primeira saga, o primeiro ciclo de IT. Pelo que entendi, haverá mais duas temporadas, então provavelmente teremos algumas conexões com os filmes? Não sei ao certo, vamos ver. Mas o último episódio foi fantástico, inclusive com algumas referências escondidas. O episódio da semana passada também foi considerado por muitos o melhor episódio de uma série de terror. E o alienígena invencível da série é um inimigo terrível.

  A primeira temporada foi interessante para entendermos melhor a origem do IT, como ele chegou à Terra, o que é e como está confinado à pequena cidade de Derry. Nos dois filmes, não entendemos muito sobre essa origem, já que se passam depois dos eventos da primeira temporada. Então, estamos falando de uma poderosa entidade alienígena que originalmente se forma a partir de esferas giratórias, mas que pode se transformar em qualquer coisa que te assuste; sua forma preferida é o palhaço Pennywise, que também existiu no passado e foi devorado por esse alienígena.

  Além de se transformar, o alienígena parece ter uma espécie de onipresença, como um deus. Ele pode se comunicar e aparecer quando quiser dentro de seu alcance. Além disso, neste último episódio, ele até menciona algo sobre o futuro, então ele existe em diferentes momentos temporais. Também no último episódio, ele se refere a si mesmo como "O Devorador de Mundos". Recentemente, falei sobre a entidade Galactus da Marvel, que é chamada de Devorador de Mundos. Então, será que o IT é mais poderoso que o Galactus? Sempre acho que essas comparações sobre multiversos na ficção científica são terríveis.

  Então, o momento em que ele fala sobre o futuro não é um momento esperado. Ele menciona para a garota, Marge, uma das crianças que o ajudam a lutar contra ele, que a reconhece e que ela é, na verdade, a mãe de um garoto chamado Richie. Richie faz parte do Clube dos Perdedores, que aparece como criança no primeiro filme e depois como adulto no segundo. A criatura também menciona que Richie faz parte da gangue que vai matá-lo.

  Outro personagem interessante da série é Dick Halloran. Uma arma secreta do exército para encontrar a criatura que tem poderes sobrenaturais. Ele tem poderes psíquicos, incluindo a capacidade de ver pessoas mortas. Ou, como o universo de Stephen King gosta de chamar, "o brilho". Há outro ótimo filme, um antigo estrelado por Jack Nicholson, chamado "O Iluminado". Assisti há muito tempo e não me lembrava que esse personagem também aparecia nesse filme. E no final do episódio, Dick diz que vai para um hotel em Londres e pergunta: "Quanta encrenca um hotel pode causar?" O filme O Iluminado se passa em um hotel assombrado onde ele aparece, então essa pergunta pode ser uma referência ao filme.

  A temporada termina e o grupo que lutava contra "A Coisa" venceu a batalha, mas sabemos que a guerra não acabou e que ele retornará em 27 anos, como mencionado pelo líder indígena. Foi uma aventura bastante emocionante, na qual crianças e adultos tiveram um papel importante na luta. Mas a questão é: não teria sido melhor mudar toda a cidade nos próximos 27 anos, para que não restasse nenhum humano na área? Já que o alienígena não pode deixar a área estabelecida pelo meteoro que o trouxe? Bem, isso provavelmente resolveria o problema, mas a história termina aí, certo?
