Having fun with dinosaurs again: Jurassic World Rebirth (2025)

Another franchise of movies that I will always watch is Jurassic Park. I watched the release of the first original movie in the theatres, so basically the franchise followed me through all my timeline. The first movie, in 1993 when I wasn't even 10 years old, was great. Interesting that nowadays it is recommended for 13+, but I watched it before that. The mix of Steven Spielberg and Dinosaurs looking real, at least for that time, was something that I never forgot. So I watched the latest Jurassic World: Rebirth at Prime Video after they released it for free to subscribers. Probably you will notice that I am always patient to wait for a movie. I think it is unfair if I subscribe to a service and I still need to pay for individual movies.

The movie is another reboot with the story occurring 5 years after what happened in the last Jurassic World: Dominion from 2022. If you remember, this movie was a gathering of the original cast from the first Jurassic Park and the current with the main actor as Chris Pratt. So now all of them aren't there anymore, and we have a new team of brave (or dumb) characters that defy the giant and not exctincted anymore dinosaurs anymore. Between the actors are Scarlett Johansson and Mahershala Ali playing roles as mercenaries hired by a company to get some blood samples from Dinosaurs to help create a perfect drug for heart diseases. The team of mercenaries, the member of the company completes with a paleontologist (of course, we need to have paleontologists).
They go to an abandoned park in the middle of the Caribbean to collect blood samples of 3 dinosaurs and of course, as always, there is always the greedy guy, that we cheer against and the good guys. Despite of that being very predictable, what wasn't predictable for me was what occurred on the island. The appearance of genetically altered creatures that are closer to an alien creature than dinosaurs.
While watching the movie, I would expect regular dinosaurs like the ones that they collected blood from, like Mosasaurus, Titanosaurus and Quetzalcoatlus. And for me the most interesting part was the encounter with the Mosasaurus. Also we couldn't miss an encounter with the famous T.Rex which is always present in all movies, and is a symbol of the original Jurassic Park. But creating abominations, monsters that never existed, like a big ultra monster with more than 4 limbs and a head that reminds more of a creature from Alien than Jurassic Park/World. It was a bit too much gore animal that could be more fit in a Resident Evil movie.

It was good to see dinosaurs and I missed a bit of Chris Pratt, since he is a fun actor usually. Also, the over exaggeration of mutant dinosaurs like this big dinosaur and also the other semi-air mutants were too much in my perspective. Not sure if they lost the creativity to only keep going with the regular dinosaurs, but as a fan of extinct animals, it would still be cool to keep them.

I saw this one too, wasn't too bad of a movie. Not the best one they've made by far, but it was entertaining. Of course they have to create something new each time around to keep things interesting, welcome to Hollywood...

I watched this two months ago, I found it really bad, the previous ones were way better... There were a lot of absurdities, unexplained things... Like the dyno bite the boat and it still works?? Or he wouldn't go around the stone wall?? Or how the hell the dude survived in the end when he was facing the dyno?? Magic?
yeahhh good one i forgot to mention about how the inflatable boat survived!! maybe made of a potent microfiber ? xD
but for me the leaving behind a bit the classical dinos to go with terrible monster was the worse part.
I almost forgot to watch this but I'll try this weekend to watch this movie lol but I can't relate this with the first one 😁

Just watch it if you are dino fan, the movie isn't the best one hehehe but still has some fun part moments!
I love to watch dino that's the reason I added this to my watchlist
Watched this when it came out... and I enjoyed it. Not as good as the original, but better than the previous because here they focused on Dinosaurs, and we didn't get different animals and whatnot. Like they did in the last one. That's a win, in my books.
for sure the previous one was a bit slow and i wanted so bad that end it hehe
there are goods in the movie for sure but bringing monsters godzila level wasn't much something that I enjoyed xD
