Nope: Jordan Peele is bringing lots of creativity in the sector

I am a person that always try to see anything that comes out with sci-fi movies. And when "Nope" was released I was counting the days to watch it on one of my streaming services. However, I had a luck to travel and get a good 5-hour flight, in which I could watch some new releases! One of them was "Nope".

Not long ago I watched "Get Out" by the same director, and it amazed me how the director could insert racism subject into the horror movies. The interesting thing is that he brought again the actor Daniel Kaluuya again to his movie, as a main character again. And also racism isn't connected to the main story, but still is inserted somehow during the story about some challenges that afro-Americans suffer in their daily life, mostly in this case in the Country of the US. In this case inner California.

Nope in the beginning looks like an almost classic UFO story, with abductions in a small city, and every minute that it passes we are counting the time to finally see the extraterrestrial beings. However, is still different. The movie begins with the protagonist as "OJ" Haywood Jr, and his father is doing their daily activities training horses for the movie industry, when they start to hear screaming far away and objects start to fall down, one of them, one key hit his father and he dies. So the beginning is very surprising and original in my point of view. OJ has the help of his sister to try to maintain the family business, and they start to see more of this UFO, a classic flying saucer in a plate form. And they start to try to film this object, since it looks like pursuing them and also getting hidden in the same place above the sky using clouds that don't move.

The movie has some other interesting characters, an asian-american, the guy who was Glenn in "Walking Dead", who in his childhood was a sitcom star, but he left the industry when occurred a massacre on the stage. A chimp that used to be the star of the showed killed all the cast in a "kill bill" style. That moment transformed the life of this kid who became an owner of a theme park near the farm and he also had a show where he sacrifices the horses that buy from OJ's farm to the UFO. Another interesting character is the IT guy that works in the store where the brothers bought the security system to try to film the UFO. The guy starts to help the brothers in order to manage the technology to be able to film the thing.

SPOIL: In the middle-end when things start to become a little bit more frenetic, it is revelated that the true nature of the UFO, and how the originality of the author becomes amazing. Actually, the UFO is a living being, not clear in the movie if it is from another world, however, we interpret that it is. And somehow OJ's sister can take a picture of the UFO, another thing it isn't clear if OJ survived or not in the final scene, since he leads the UFO, now named Jean Jacket by him. He tries to create a distraction for the UFO don't go to his sister, so after this living being dies and the sister takes the picture, she seems far away an image from OJ, which we don't know if it is a symbolic image or a real image. The movie is very interesting and creative. I recommend it for sure. Here is the trailer:

This is definitely one of the best movies that I have see this year so far. Ever since the film was released last year, I avoided any spoiler and was not disappointed when I finally saw it a few weeks back. I have seen the three horror movies directed by Jordan Peele and each of them have just been quite the experience. I like this one because of the extraterrestrial theme. The mystery was intense while the revelation and scare were good. I also recommend it.
