Starting to watch “IT:Welcome to Derry”

  Halloween passed 10 days ago. It is always a time when I love to watch new horror releases on streaming services. Usually Netflix has multiple releases that make me just watch it for a couple of weeks. It was a tradition to watch Mike Flanagan's new Series every Halloween, but it stopped. Also, I couldn't find any good horror releases on Netflix during this Halloween season. What a disappointment. Nothing interesting on Disney platform as well. Sometimes they release a good movie from their Hulu/Star+ adult platform. However, HBO saved the season this time with the series "It: Welcome to Derry".

  For those who love Stephen King, probably recognized the title, even if they didn't hear about this new series. Derry is the town where the novel "It" takes place. "It" also has some movies, one old series in two parts and a newer edition with a sequel. The famous supernatural clown that goes after kids. The new series, for now, surprised me a bit. Every Sunday, they release a new episode. I am currently watching the third one that was released last Sunday and it keeps me curious about what is happening in that town.

  For now, there isn't any clown in there, and everything that is happening right now is before all that happened in the first "It" movie with the kids in that group. But it was a very good first episode. For me, if the series ended there, it would already be amazing. It was a blood bath and of course, the next two episodes start bringing the investigation to what happened and why, but still with no clear answers yet. It starts with the weird disappearance of a kid, like the "It" movie, which was already very shocking the way it was, but the ending of the first episode was something very big.

  Kids were investigating the disappearance of their friend, and different from the movie, that didn't go well, I won't give too much spoil because what is good in the end of that episode is the surprise element of not a happy ending. The second episode had some horror moments, but it was more about the buildup of a relationship between the main characters as we are starting to create some bonds. And the third episode for now it is solid and maybe we will start to have some answers about some characters' objectives.

  Probably after finishing this season of the series, I will come back here again to give my final review, but for now, watching the first episode was the heated part and it is totally worth it if you are a horror fan.

  O Halloween passou há 10 dias. É sempre uma época em que eu adoro assistir aos novos lançamentos de terror nos serviços de streaming. Normalmente a Netflix tem vários lançamentos que me fazem assistir por algumas semanas. Era uma tradição assistir à nova série do Mike Flanagan todo Halloween, mas isso parou. Além disso, não consegui encontrar nenhum bom lançamento de terror na Netflix durante esta temporada de Halloween. Que decepção. Nada interessante na plataforma da Disney também. Às vezes eles lançam um bom filme da sua plataforma adulta Hulu/Star+. No entanto, a HBO salvou a temporada desta vez com a série "It: Welcome to Derry".

  Para quem ama Stephen King, provavelmente reconheceu o título, mesmo que não tenha ouvido falar dessa nova série. Derry é a cidade onde o romance "It" acontece. "It" também tem alguns filmes, uma série antiga em duas partes e uma versão mais nova com continuação. O famoso palhaço sobrenatural que persegue crianças. A nova série, por enquanto, me surpreendeu um pouco. Todo domingo eles lançam um novo episódio. No momento, estou assistindo ao terceiro, que foi lançado no último domingo, e ele me deixa curioso sobre o que está acontecendo naquela cidade.

  Por enquanto, não há nenhum palhaço lá, e tudo o que está acontecendo agora é antes de tudo o que ocorreu no primeiro filme "It", com as crianças daquele grupo. Mas foi um ótimo primeiro episódio. Para mim, se a série terminasse ali, já seria incrível. Foi um banho de sangue e, claro, os dois episódios seguintes começam a trazer a investigação sobre o que aconteceu e por quê, mas ainda sem respostas claras. Começa com o desaparecimento estranho de uma criança, como no filme "It", que já foi muito chocante do jeito que foi, mas o final do primeiro episódio foi algo muito grande.

  As crianças estavam investigando o desaparecimento do amigo, e diferente do filme, isso não acabou bem. Não vou dar muito spoiler porque o que é bom no final daquele episódio é o elemento surpresa de não ter um final feliz. O segundo episódio teve alguns momentos de terror, mas foi mais sobre a construção do relacionamento entre os personagens principais, enquanto começamos a criar alguns laços. E o terceiro episódio, por enquanto, está sólido e talvez comecemos a ter algumas respostas sobre os objetivos de alguns personagens.

  Provavelmente depois de terminar esta temporada da série, voltarei aqui novamente para dar minha análise final, mas por enquanto, assistir ao primeiro episódio foi a parte mais empolgante e vale totalmente a pena se você é fã de terror.
