Es un placer para mí realizar la primera recomendación de una serie para este nuevo año 2023; si hacemos un poco de memoria en los dos últimos meses del año que recién termino yo hice una serie de publicaciones donde les sugería películas navideñas, siendo la última “Noche de fin de año”. Ya para comenzar este 2023, quiero compartir con ustedes una serie que acabo de terminar de ver, sinceramente no es nueva pero mi hermana me insistió mucho en verla, así que decidí hacerle caso y la verdad es que me gusto bastante, aunque traigo varias críticas que hoy quiero compartir con todos ustedes.

Now to start this 2023, I want to share with you a series that I just finished watching, honestly it is not new but my sister insisted me a lot to watch it, so I decided to listen to her and the truth is that I liked it a lot, although I bring several reviews that today I want to share with you all.

Se trata de la Reina del flow, una producción colombiana estrenada en el año 2018 y 2021 para el canal Caracol Televisión. La misma fue protagonizada por Carolina Ramírez, Carlos Torres y Andrés Sandoval, es del genero telenovela, drama musical; es una historia centrada en una joven nacida en la ciudad de Medellín, llamada Yeimy Montoya hija de un matrimonio que se dedicaba a la panadería y que vivían en una comuna de la mencionada ciudad.
It is La Reina del flow, a Colombian production premiered in 2018 and 2021 for Caracol Televisión channel. It stars Carolina Ramírez, Carlos Torres and Andrés Sandoval and is a telenovela, musical drama; it is a story centered on a young woman born in the city of Medellín, called Yeimy Montoya, daughter of a married couple who worked as bakers and who lived in a neighborhood of the aforementioned city.

Era una chica con un increíble talento para componer, buena hija y criada con excelentes valores pero lamentablemente fue víctima de las mafias que controlaban la zona y es que cuando sus padres se negaron a pagar vacuna fueron asesinados, ella fue enviada a una cárcel en Estados Unidos por supuestamente traficar con drogas, mataron a su abuela y le robaron su hijo. Después de vivir todo esto y pasar 17 años presa, la DEA hace un trato con ella, le ofrecen la libertad a cambio de que los ayude a atrapar al capo alias “Manin” y ella acepta con toda la intención de cobrar venganza por todo lo que le hicieron.
She was a girl with an incredible talent for composing, a good daughter and raised with excellent values but unfortunately she was a victim of the mafias that controlled the area and when her parents refused to pay vacuna they were murdered, she was sent to a prison in the United States for allegedly dealing drugs, they killed her grandmother and stole her son. After living through all this and spending 17 years in prison, the DEA makes a deal with her, they offer her freedom in exchange for her help in catching the drug lord alias "Manin" and she accepts with the full intention of taking revenge for everything they did to her.

Ahora bien, la serie me atrapo porque realmente no tiene tramas enredados como los de las novelas tradicionales a pesar de tener más de 80 capítulos, es una producción que lamentablemente se apega muchísimo a la realidad. Las comunas de Medellín existen y tristemente el cobro de vacuno conjuntamente con la distribución de drogas, llevándose por delante a un gran número de jóvenes que nacen y crecen en ese sitio. También es cierto que hay personas que quieren hacer la diferencia como es el caso de Juancho, a quien su madre lo abandonó cuando era apenas un adolescente y de paso le dejo a sus hermanitos, a pesar de que las circunstancias fueron muy duras para él, tomo la mejor decisión y fue trabajar honradamente para salir adelante junto a sus pequeños hermanos.
Now, the series caught me because it does not really have tangled plots like those of traditional novels despite having more than 80 chapters, it is a production that unfortunately sticks very close to reality. The communes of Medellin do exist and sadly, the collection of cattle along with the distribution of drugs, taking with them a large number of young people who are born and grow up in that place. It is also true that there are people who want to make a difference, as is the case of Juancho, whose mother abandoned him when he was just a teenager and left him his siblings. Although the circumstances were very hard for him, he made the best decision and that was to work honestly to get ahead with his little brothers and sisters.

Sin embargo, no todos tienen la misma suerte de Juancho, lamentablemente ese mundo los envuelve y muchas veces es porque no les queda opción, esta triste realidad las muestra esta serie. El caso de Yeimy Montoya es una situación que también es más común de lo que imaginamos, personas que por confiar en otras, son sembradas con drogas y les toca ir a la cárcel siendo inocentes.
However, not everyone has the same luck as Juancho, unfortunately this world surrounds them and many times it is because they have no choice, this sad reality is shown in this series. The case of Yeimy Montoya is a situation that is also more common than we imagine, people who by trusting others, are planted with drugs and have to go to jail being innocent.

No obstante hay algo con lo que no estuve de acuerdo, resulta que cuando ella regresa a vengarse y se consigue de nuevo con todo su pasado, pero se obsesiona con Charly Flow su amor del pasado, el padre de su hijo y quien le dio la maleta llena de droga. Este hombre le robo todas sus canciones y se hizo famoso a costa de ella, era el sobrino de Manin y algo muy particular que también me causo mucha curiosidad fue como se usan los estudios de música para el lavado de dinero y sobre todos los conciertos musicales para poder limpiar millones y millones de dólares provenientes del narcotráfico, situación que aunque nos cueste creer pasa en la vida real.
However there is something that I did not agree with, it turns out that when she returns to take revenge and gets back all her past, but she becomes obsessed with Charly Flow her past love, the father of her son and the one who gave her the suitcase full of drugs. This man stole all her songs and became famous at her expense, he was Manin's nephew and something very particular that also caused me a lot of curiosity was how music studios are used for money laundering and especially music concerts to clean millions and millions of dollars from drug trafficking, a situation that although it is hard to believe happens in real life.

Retomando la vida de Yeimy y es mi critica a quienes escribieron esta historia, es que ella se obsesiono con Charly a tal punto de hacerle daño a terceros, aunque puedo tranquilamente entender que haga parte de la trama. Sin embargo, ella nunca sale de ese círculo vicioso entre Juancho y Charly, al final de la trama ella tiene una relación amorosa con Juancho quien a mi parecer era el personaje con menos estabilidad emocional de toda la novela; en conclusión pienso que un mejor final para Yeimy era con una persona nueva lejos de todo ese drama o sola.
Returning to Yeimy's life and my criticism to those who wrote this story, is that she became obsessed with Charly to the point of hurting third parties, although I can easily understand that it is part of the plot. However, she never gets out of that vicious circle between Juancho and Charly, at the end of the plot she has a love relationship with Juancho who in my opinion was the character with less emotional stability of the whole novel; in conclusion I think a better ending for Yeimy was with a new person away from all that drama or alone.

Esta serie la vi pasar en la Tv, pero nunca la vi. Estas temáticas son más reales de lo que parecen, pues recrean la cruda realidad de lo que sucede en muchas ciudades de Colombia.

Al igual que tú, supe que la pasaban por televisión pero no me llamo la atención verla, fue mi hermana que me insistió pero fue buena y nos muestra la cruda realidad de muchos lugares del mundo, no solamente de Colombia.
