Después de vivir ciertos hechos sorprendentes en mi país Venezuela, es momento de retomar mi rutina en Hive, es por ello que hoy vine a compartir con ustedes mi opinión sobre una serie que mi hermana @kiutvariedades me recomendó hace unos días, se trata de una producción llamada “El Chacal”.
After experiencing some surprising events in my country, Venezuela, it's time to get back to my routine at Hive. That's why today I'm here to share with you my opinion on a series that my sister @kiutvariedades recommended to me a few days ago. It's a production called “El Chacal.”

El chacal es una serie de televisión de origen británica estrenada en el 2024 del género de acción, dicha serie se encuentra basada en la novela de Frederick Forsyth la cual posee el mismo nombre. La misma está protagonizada por Eddie Remayne y Lashana Lynch y la mejor noticia de todas es que se encuentra confirmada para una segunda temporada.
Esta serie se encuentra centrada en un asesino a sueldo, cruel, despiadado conocido como el chacal y la oficial de inteligencia del MI6 Bianca quien es la encargada de capturarlo. Todo comienza cuando el chacal asesina a un canciller alemán de ultraderecha, para ello lo primero que hace es herir a su hijo de modo que el canciller se vea obligado a ir a visitarlo al hospital. Justo cuando está entrando al hospital es impactado por una bala en la cabeza a una distancia extraordinaria, y es aquí cuando todo se pone realmente interesante porque en el momento de huir este asesino espero que los policías llegaran al sitio de donde él ejecutó el disparo para explotar todo el sitio y con esto borro todas las evidencias, huellas y todo lo que pudiese exponer su identidad.
The Jackal is a British action television series that premiered in 2024. The series is based on the novel of the same name by Frederick Forsyth. It stars Eddie Remayne and Lashana Lynch, and the best news of all is that it has been confirmed for a second season.
This series focuses on a cruel, ruthless hitman known as the Jackal and MI6 intelligence officer Bianca, who is tasked with capturing him. It all begins when the Jackal assassinates a far-right German chancellor. To do so, he first injures the chancellor's son so that the chancellor is forced to visit him in the hospital. Just as he is entering the hospital, he is shot in the head from an extraordinary distance, and this is when things get really interesting because, as he flees, the assassin waits for the police to arrive at the site where he fired the shot so that he can blow up the entire place, thereby erasing all evidence, fingerprints, and anything else that could reveal his identity.

En vista de todo lo ocurrido, una detective experta en armas del MI6 llega para realizar las investigaciones necesarias y con esto poder capturar al asesino, ella determina que el arma utilizada fue un francotirador con cañón plegable, que solo una persona en el mundo es capaz de construir dicha arma y es un armero norirlandés llamado Norman Stoke. Inmediatamente coloca un plan en marcha para encontrar a este sujeto con la certeza que lo llevaría hacia el asesino, pero en ese camino ocurren muchas cosas como por ejemplo abuso de poder y muerte de personas inocentes. Sin embargo, logra encontrar a Stoke pero él mismo sabía que irían por él y les coloca una trampa, de esta manera mató a dos oficiales.
No obstante, Bianca era una mujer muy inteligente y diligente, cuando ponía sus ojos en algo no se cansaba hasta hallar una respuesta, ella se dispuso a estudiar la técnica de disparo del chacal y llegó a la conclusión que tenía que ser un ex-militar británico con una gran preparación, pero cuando entrevisto a una persona buscando información le dijeron que el único soldado capaz de realizar disparos a esa distancia y con tal precisión era una soldado que había estado en Afganistán llamado Alexander Duggan pero que el mismo había muerto en una misión, respuesta que a ella no la convenció; además de aquel acontecimiento ocurrido en Afganistán no se conoce mayores detalles y a ella eso le parecía muy extraño.

She set out to study the Jackal's shooting technique and came to the conclusion that he had to be a highly trained former British soldier. But when she interviewed someone looking for information, she was told that the only soldier capable of shooting at that distance and with such accuracy was a soldier who had been in Afghanistan named Alexander Duggan, but that he himself had died on a mission, an answer that did not convince her. In addition, no further details were known about that event in Afghanistan, which she found very strange.

Al mismo tiempo, el chacal se preparaba para otro trabajo pero estaba teniendo inconvenientes con su esposa, quien estaba pisándole los talones y había descubierto el sitio donde Duggan escondía todo el armamento, pasaportes, disfraces y dinero, esto tenía al chacal un poco inquieto por lo que cometió algunos errores. El próximo trabajo era muy grande, varias personas se reunieron para solicitar de sus servicios, la economía global estaba en juego y necesitaban matar a alguien que expondría el origen del dinero de grandes magnates, literalmente sacara los trapos sucios de muchas personas importantes, incluyendo jefes de estados, así que el chacal debia hacerse cargo.
Al primer intento falló, pero lo realmente extraordinario fue como lo mató en la segunda oportunidad y es que realizó un trabajo fenomenal de alta precisión, porque es que el sujeto no solamente disparaba bien, era inteligente, realizaba las investigaciones necesarias y calculaba distancias, velocidades, entre otras cosas. Pero, Bianca también era una mujer muy astuta e inteligente y a pesar de que los entes gubernamentales para quien trabajaba le colocaban resistencia, ella se aprovechó de los errores cometidos por el chacal y logró descubrir de quién se trataba y donde vivía.

This made the jackal a little uneasy, so he made some mistakes. The next job was very big. Several people got together to request his services. The global economy was at stake, and they needed to kill someone who would expose the source of money belonging to big tycoons, literally airing the dirty laundry of many important people, including heads of state, so the Jackal had to take care of it.
He failed on his first attempt, but what was truly extraordinary was how he killed him on the second try. He did a phenomenal job with high precision, because the guy not only shot well, he was intelligent, did the necessary research, and calculated distances and speeds, among other things. But Bianca was also a very astute and intelligent woman, and despite resistance from the government agencies she worked for, she took advantage of the Jackal's mistakes and managed to discover who he was and where he lived.

Ahora bien, como siempre lo hago, aquí viene mi opinión; la verdad que es una serie que me atrapó desde el principio, siempre he comentado que me gustan mucho este tiempo de series y esta en particular me agrado mas de la cuenta porque se logra evidenciar la importancia de la preparación para realizar un trabajo eficazmente. Realmente no quise darles mucha información acerca del último trabajo del chacal porque me encantaría que pudieran verlo con sus propios ojos, pero me gusto mucho la manera en cómo ejecutó ese disparo y cómo utilizó las leyes de la física y los cálculos matemáticos para lograr su objetivo con éxito.
Otra cosa que nos enseña esta serie, es como la paciencia puede ser nuestra gran aliada pero algo que llevó a Duggan a ser exitoso en su trabajo era la paciencia, nunca se precipitó e incluso podría tardar hasta dos días en un mismo sitio esperando el momento indicado para ejecutar un trabajo. Sinceramente, es una serie que la recomiendo al cien por ciento, el único detalle es que solo hay una temporada y muchos cabos sueltos, ya se confirmó la segunda temporada pero no hay una fecha concreta y la verdad uno termina con mucho suspenso y ansiedad por saber lo que ocurrirá.
Now, as I always do, here comes my opinion; the truth is that this series hooked me from the beginning. I've always said that I really like this type of series, and I particularly like this one because it highlights the importance of preparation in order to do a job effectively. I didn't really want to give you too much information about the Jackal's latest job because I'd love for you to see it with your own eyes, but I really liked the way he executed that shot and how he used the laws of physics and mathematical calculations to successfully achieve his goal.
Another thing this series teaches us is how patience can be our greatest ally, but something that led Duggan to be successful in his work was patience. He never rushed and could even spend up to two days in the same place waiting for the right moment to carry out a job. Honestly, I recommend this series 100%. The only downside is that there is only one season and many loose ends. A second season has been confirmed, but there is no specific date, and the truth is that you end up with a lot of suspense and anxiety about what will happen.

I loved this show. I was a little concerned about the casting but it actually ended up working out very well. The second season I guess is still in development but I am not concerned enough to find out what is going on with that.
By the way the actual name of the show is "The Day of the Jackal" or at least that is what it is in English.
