A Geeky Guy's Guide To Pluribus
I absolutely loved Better Call Saul. In fact, I thought it was significantly better than Breaking Bad. One of the reasons I loved Better Call Saul so much was the fact that, unlike Breaking Bad, every side character was incredibly entertaining and interesting. There was no better example than Rhea Seehorn as Kim Wexler. Kim Wexler is hands down one of the best characters I have ever seen. So when I saw an ad showing a new show by the Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul creator starring Rhea Seehorn, I was in. And then I found out something that blew my mind. That creator,Vince Gilligan, was also responsible for the groundbreaking Sci-Fi show The X-Files. I’m embarrassed to say I had no idea.
So Kim Wexler in a Sci-Fi show… sign me up!!!

And I was not disappointed. Going into the show I hoped I’d be treated to a sci-fi show with clever writing and great characters. So basically Better Call Saul crossed with the Twilight Zone. And that is exactly what I got!
Pluribus is one of the most original shows I have ever seen. It managed to be compelling with absolutely no action at all. It proves it’s worth through a great story, excellent writing and incredible acting. Oh and this team knows how to create amazing characters. I found everyone incredibly interesting in different ways.
As far as plot goes, I can tell you a little bit without spoiling anything. The premise is that something (we don’t know what) has happened on earth. This ”something” has caused over 8 billion people to all merge into one shared consciousness. Every individual has the memories, talents and experiences of every person in that 8 million. So every one of them can speak any language, make any type of food like a master chef, operate any machine… basically do everything anyone on earth can do.

There are only about a dozen exceptions on the entire planet. Rhea Seehorn plays a romance novelist, Carol, who is one of the exceptions who has kept her individual identity.
Carol must navigate this bizarre new world. She also has to figure out how/if she should save it.
It is hard to say much more without spoiling it. But if you like clever ideas, interesting characters, and great writing, you should check out Pluribus.
Personally, I cannot wait for the next season... but sadly it looks like that is at least two years away.
I was talking to friends yesterday only about how the movie directors make impossible things possible. They have great level of imagination that bring something special on the plate. Seems this shows is going to be one of theem
I had never heard of the Pluribus series before, and from what you say in your post, it could be very interesting to watch. If you think it's unique, then it certainly is.
Yes! I was just drafting my review when I read yours. Mine is full of spoilers. I warn readers about that, but the fun of the show, the brilliance is in what 'happens.
Vince Gilligan and Rhea Seehorn: What team. I agree. Two years, too long to wait.
Sounds like I need to renew my apple TV plus subscription. Did you ever watch Sens8 in Netflix? This sounds like it has a little bit in common with that.
I meant to watch sens8 but we got distracted. Some day I’ll circle back.
Even though it's not Better Call Saul, the fact that you wrote in your post that it could be better than Breaking Bad makes me want to look for more information about that series, since that spoiler makes it very interesting to watch. And well, with Pluribus, after reading a bit of your post and trusting your knowledge of the subject, it seems interesting to watch, although it's somewhat unsettling to wait so long to see the continuation of the next season.
I might get an Apple TV subscription just for Pluribus. As a big fan of Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, I know Vince Gilligan will never disappoint me.
Hmmm…A friend told us we should watch it because apparently it's so great…and I will say this…it is unique…nothing I've watched so far… but oh my…Caroooool…😂 I was screaming at her half the time 😂 she is not a nice person 😂 she didn't behave well 😂 I mean, well…they took good care of the "planet' in a way that they didn't use electricity, and the friendly Carol, of course, lit up the whole town because yeah…she can 😂 so…she deserved to be left alone for a few days 😂 they really made an interesting character, but wow, Carol 😂 I'm really curious to see how the next season will develop.
Interesting plot, seems different from the usual ones, I wonder if also all the wrong attitudes merge too
After reading this post, I can say it has a very interesting and unique plot, and this is what makes the series different than others.
