A Geeky Guy’s Guide to The Rocky Horror Picture Show
I have never written about a movie while actually watching it… before now. I have seen The Rocky Horror Picture Show about 30 times so I can pretty much recite it so it is one of the few movies I can enjoy while I split my attention between the movie and my phone.

If you haven’t seen it before, you probably need to know this is one of the weirdest movies ever made… and it was on purpose. It is meant to be a bizarre, over the top, musical with a very skimpy ”plot” (and wardrobe).
If you are watching it for the first time in your home, you might want to do some research first to help you enjoy it. it might help to learn how it became a cult classic.. actually THE cult classic.
I honestly don’t know how anyone would view this movie if they just happened to stumble upon it on a streaming service.
One of the reasons I have seen it so many times is that I saw it the way it was intended: at Midnight in a movie theater surrounded by insanely rowdy fans who acted out the movie as it played. I first did this about 35 years ago. It was one of the few things teenagers could do late at night unless you were going to the local all ages club.
If your first experience with it was a showing with people screaming at the screen, dancing, throwing rice, shooting water guns and throwing toilet paper, you’d like almost anything. Thanks to this experience followed by seeing it in a theater another dozen times or so, I have that nostalgia to provide the joy when I watch it at home with my family.
Even at home, I still yell what I can remember and we always jump up to do the time warp. Even after seeing it so many times, I still find myself stumped when my family asks “why did that happen?” Most of the time, the answer is simply “because it’s Rock Horror”.
So if you are going to watch this, know what you are getting into, turn off your brain and enjoy it for the insane camp-fest it is.
Mwahaha this is epic. Frankly, i don't know how anyone could not enjoy Rocky Horror, though agreed, imagine you just arrived on this planet and had never heard of it before and just stumbled upon it.... be weird as hell. Even so, though, how could you not enjoy it? 🤔
Saw it last Halloween. My brother even dressed us as Doctor Frank n Furter. It's Elvira this Halloween though. Enjoy your movie, and remember...
it's just a jump to the left...
I haven't seen it yet, but I'll add it to my watchlist. The fact that it's a few years old makes it even better, but it loses some of its magic not being able to watch it with a large, noisy crowd.
This movie is very beautiful but not everyone will like it. Those who are only looking for story or meaning will not enjoy watching this movie. This movie is for people like me who have a love for crazy music and cult classic culture.
I haven’t seen this movie yet, but it sounds really interesting! The way you described it makes me curious to watch it sometime, especially with how unique and lively the theater experience seems.
I’ve never seen it live, but your description makes me want to! Sounds like such a unique experience!
I'll try to do some research before watching it, since from what I've heard, it's not very common and might not appeal to many people. So, well, maybe seeing something we're not used to will broaden our minds a bit. Besides, a great horror movie is always welcome, so all that's left is to enjoy it.
The first and only time I have seen the movie was at an old theater in a nearby town. My wife's cousin invited us and I had no clue what I was getting into. I honestly think that is the best way to see it. If you just watch it at home, you are really missing out on the whole atmosphere. I was so clueless when people were all dressed up crazy and started throwing stuff at the screen and singing along, but it is an experience I am glad I had at least once!
hahaha make me laugh! 😆 i think this is fun, but i dont really think it's that scary.
There are as many people in this world as there are people, each person's favorite thing is different from the other person, but each person's opinion may be the same, so here I will say that I have not seen this movie either, and I try to stop watching it if I am not interested in the movie
