Binge-Watching addiction

Sometimes, you question if advancement in technology is a blessing or a curse because the youths of our contemporary world engage in activities that were not in existence before. My blog topic is about discussing funny activities that we take up as human beings that has somehow become an addiction in one way or the other.
For instance, binge-watching of movies or series is gradually becoming an addiction because you either watch a particular series for numerous times or you keep watching and watching without knowing that time is far spent, this is because you are addicted to that particular movie and would not want to do anything else unless you end it.
Back in the days when there was no mobile phones, tablet, computers and so on to binge watch movies we would always set our bedtime to 9:00 p.m. and we always adhered to this. But in our contemporary world, everyone has a mobile phone that allows us to do whatever we like at any time like suf the internet, watch movies, carry on tasks, vlog, blog and do numerous activities. Hence, this could affect with your bedtime schedule.
Although there is nothing really wrong with binge-Watching, but it becomes an addiction when you do too much. However, binge-Watching Addiction is one of the most fun yet hilariously time-consuming habits of our digital age. I came about the topic for this prompt because of what happened yesterday night. I was watching a Korean movie titled "study group", I was so captivated by this movie based on the positive reviews I saw on various social media platforms.
I downloaded it at 6:00 p.m. yesterday and you would not believe that I got so addicted to watching it that I did not want to stop or Miss any episode. Upon downloading the 12 episodes that comes with the season 1, I started watching at 7:00 p.m. and coupled with some distractions here and there and home activities I thought that by 10:00 p.m. I would go to bed.
To be honest, the movie was interesting to the extent that I finished the entire 12 episode at 2a.m. in the morning. In essence, binge-watching addiction is a kind of lie we tell ourselves as human beings that after a particular episode will go to bed but we keep going and going until it gets too late.
In conclusion, this act of watching movies and staying glued to your screen can be fun and a means to escape reality or life struggles and frustrations but it also has it downsides such as bad posture, bad eyesight, weight gain, sleep deprivation, lack of productivity and so on.
Like in my case, the fact that I slept late made me wake up later and kind of disturbed my already planned schedule for the next day.
