MALLORY IN 'BEAUTY IN BLACK' MOVIE

Most people have seen the recently and anticipated released movie beauty In Black. We all know it is about a controversial family who despise themselves and trying to bring each other down.

However for the purpose of this prompt I would be discussing about the character Mallory in the movie. Mallory is the daughter-in-law of Horace Bellarie, the boss and the overall head of the company beauty in black in the movie. She is married to his first son who is a drug addict and a Womanizer.

The character of Mallory is so complicated that you cannot pinpoint at some point in the movie why or how she does some certain things. For instance there is a situation where her husband is an addict to drugs and is completely useless when it comes to achieving progress in the company.

She proves to dislike him because he is not manly enough to make decisions for himself and for the family as a whole. Despite the fact that she dislikes him she takes it seriously whenever he hangs around whores or other women.

Personally I would say that malory's character is one of dual nature, because when you see her on the surface she appears to be confident and polished because she has a lot of money. But deep down she is broken due to her past wounds and the constant need to prove that she is worthy of the position that she is now. At some point in the movie rain and Kimmie once accused that she is rich and polished on the surface but she's a crazy ass woman on the inside.

On another aspect we can see a psychologically depressed woman whose character brings out to the true behavior of human beings of how they can behave when they are hurt or being taken for granted. Like I said from the beginning she knows that her husband is a chronic cheat under their relationship is just for cohabiting and keeping the family shares. But instead she's still finds its difficult to accept that he is with other women and it breaks her heart.

Another thing I noticed about the character is that Mallory is drawn to power she likes to gain control of wherever she is or whatever she's handling. Be it in the office or at home, it is because of this power and control she agrees to marry into a rich family based on a past background which he intends to elevate but it is becoming difficult and complicated to handle

In conclusion, these are the few things I noticed about the character of Mallory in the movie a confident black woman that wants to make a name for herself in the society but finds herself in a patriotical world that wants to downgrade their efforts.
