MOVIE REVIEW : MOTHERS

I watched a movie recently that was mentally draining because of the opposite reactions I got by the mother in that movie. It is a Nigerian Yoruba movie directed by wumi Toriola, the movie is about an elderly woman with three children who were married but were not lucky in their husband's home.

While their mother was married to three Men and gave birth to three different daughters, the daughters in question got married to men whom one was physically violent and the other was mentally violent. It was so disastrous to see that the movie captured the entire existence of some women's experience in their marriage.

One thing I noticed in the movie was the way the mother due to her past experience with different men was origin adopters to remain in the violence relationships because she claims that it is the man's way of proving authority and control over their women which was traditionally right.

It was so bad to the extent that the daughter's got out of control and because they are mother had insisted that they should not become a diverse woman in the society they should endure whatever they are going through.

In the end of it or disaster broke lose as the daughter that is married to the physically violent man ended up having an altercation with a husband and stabbed him with a knife in the process. She went to the prison. The other daughter however tried to endure as their mother has advised but it turned that bad.

Anything this lady would do to please our husband or support him would turn out to be an insult or disrespect to him. At a point demand was not doing so well that is business and she offered to assist with the house rent, the child school fees and other stuff but he plainly refused.

In the end, the lady had to resign her high paying job because she wanted to please and be respectful to a man and when she did this she gave the husband all at severance pay but in the end the husband's later cheated on her and succeeded in traveling abroad with another woman and their child. This devastated the woman so bad that she landed in the hospital.

My point is that, while I have watched the movies that mothers do not take nonsense from anybody against their children it is surprising that this mother was different and would want her children to endure pain and suffering from the hands of man who a disrespectful.
