REVIEW OF KOREAN MOVIE : UNDERCOVER HIGH SCHOOL

Good day people, it's the start of The Weeknd and right now I am trying to relax by watching a movie and enjoying the cool weather. Last week, I watched a Korean series movie that was released on Netflix titled "undercover High School" this is a series that consisted of 12 episodes. It was an interesting watch as it has to do with action, high school drama, a little bit of comedy, love, dedication, hard work, greediness, dictatorship authoritarianism and other themes involved.

This movie was highly recommended especially on tiktok social media and for some reason I would give it a score of 8/10. This is so because it did not have too long and unnecessary romantic scenes. T2hey were more focused on the general idea the movie had to portray.

Summary of the movie

The movie is about a young man in his 30s who went back to school as an undercover agent to make research and discover the Long Lost gold bars, which was King Gojong's missing gold. In the course of doing this, a lot of things unfold such as the reason his father left home 22 years ago and never returned. Jeong hae seong is an agent for the NIS, and as part of his mission for failing to retrieve a national artifact successfully, he was given the option to either be demoted on take on the difficult task of finding the lost gold.

To achieve this, he disguised to been a 17 year old, so as to attend a school that was the target location. In the course of doing this, he discovers a lot like the chairman is also looking for the gold to fund her new school project, that bullying was a serious issue at the school, the school grading system was corrupt as it only favour's the rich and so on. In the end, there was no gold.

One of the dominant themes in this movie is that there are people who are dedicated, hardworking and committed to their jobs to the extent that they will do all the can to make the world a better place. Just like the teacher who was a temporary worker at the school but was very concerned about the students had to confront the chairman on the corrupt system of the education board.

She was so dedicated to her work that she did everything diligently and protected her students against violent. It got to a point that the chairman of the school gave her an option to either quit or remove the harsh policies she made, of course she chose to quit.

In conclusion, I always like high school movies hence this was not an exception for me. The characters were so interesting that you would gain a knowledge or two from them.
