American Box Office

I invite you to the first Box Office summary of the year. I'll start with the American market. The figures I'm quoting are gross figures. Warner only held onto first place because they were very lucky. I mean, they had a fantastic year, their productions received very good reviews, but Disney almost ruined everything. As usual, the figures are in dollars.

It was an interesting year for cinema. Disney once again demonstrated that it can release titles below expectations for six months, and then release some hits. Astronomical earnings make shareholders and us, the viewers, forget about previous failures. David Zaslav, despite being criticized from the start (often justified, but not always – the guy may be a bit clueless, but you can tell he has a plan and looks at the numbers), achieved his goal, boosting the company's position. Especially towards the very end, when Netflix and Paramount were arguing over the right to first night. Zaslav and the shareholders sat down calmly, lit a cigar and asked: WHO WILL GIVE MORE?!

Minecraft ($423,949,195) is the highest-grossing film in America. Its lead over Lilo & Stitch ($423,778,855) is approximately $150,000.

Superman ($354,184,465) came in third, significantly different from first and second place. Despite financial controversies and doubts surrounding the film, David Zaslav, Peter Safran, and James Gunn ultimately made the right decision. The film is recognizable, many have seen it, and many liked Supergirl after its trailer. Now we'll see how Superman's cousin fares in theaters... And a Superman sequel is on the way. This time, we'll see Brainiac (he already has a cast!).

Fourth place belongs to Jurassic World ($339,640,400). I didn't see it in the theater and probably won't (movies with weak plots don't exist for me, unless it's garbage), but that's just me. Most people love Dinosaurs, and you have to try really hard to prevent a production like that from making money.

Zootopia (5th place) and Wicked (6th place) grossed slightly less than Dinosaurs, earning 337,903,155 and 335,438,675, respectively.

Sinners and F4 (7th and 8th places) are slightly behind, but still secured good money – 279,653,537 and 274,286,610.

How to Train Your Dragon (262,958,100) and Avatar: Fire and Ash (250,353,869) round out the top 10.

World Boxoffice

We're all excited about Disney, but this year something else ruled. Sorry, not what, but who. Ne Zha 2. A Chinese animated film, everyone said it was a fantastic film. It had such poor and cheap advertising in Poland that it looked like a lower-tier B, or even C, animation to me. I'll definitely catch up with Asia. Earnings: $2,259,822,417.

Second place also belongs to the sequel, Zootopia 2, with 1,746,011,063, which is noticeably less. The bronze medal goes to Avatar: Fire and Ash, which earned 1,380,273,171. Lilo & Stitch came in fourth with another billion, specifically 1,038,027,526.

Fifth place was taken by A Minecraft Movie, which nearly reached a billion, earning 958,287,780.

Dinosaurs was the 6th best film of 2025. Jurassic World: Rebirth earned 869,146,189.

Although there are several anime films on the list, the highest grosser was Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba: Infinity Castle. 728,255,261 is a great result! Perhaps thanks to anime, it will get another boost in global trade volume.

How to Train Your Dragon took eighth place with $636,351,148.

F1: The Movie came in right behind with $631,842,436.

2. The sequel, Wicked, earned less than the first installment, and the reviews were worse, but it earned its keep. 526,587,764

Amerykański Boxoffice

Zapraszam na pierwsze, BoxOffice'owe podsumowanie roku. Zacznę od Amerykańskiego rynku. Kwoty, które podaję są kwotami Brutto. Warner utrzymał się na 1 miejscu tylko dlatego, że miał dużo szczęścia. W sensie, mieli rewelacyjny rok, ich produkcje dostały bardzo dobre recenzje, ale Disney prawie wszystko popsuł. Rozliczenia jak zwykle w dolarach.

To był ciekawy rok dla kina. Disney po raz kolejny pokazał, że może wydawać przez pół roku tytuły poniżej pewnych oczekiwań, a potem wrzuci jakieś hity. Astronomiczne zarobki sprawiają, że akcjonariusze oraz my, widzowie, zapominamy o wcześniejszych wpadkach. David Zaslav mimo bycia krytykowanym od początku (często zasadnie, ale nie zawsze - gościu może jest trochę nieogarnięty, ale widać że ma plan i patrzy na cyferki), zrealizował swój cel, podbijając pozycję firmy. Zwłaszcza pod sam koniec, gdy Netflix i Paramount kłócili się między sobą o prawo pierwszej nocy. Zaslav i akcjonariusze rozsiedli się spokojnie, odpalili sobie cygaro i pytali: KTO DA WIĘCEJ?!

Minecraft (423,949,195) to najlepiej zarabiający film Ameryki. Przewaga nad Lilo & Stitch (423,778,855) wynosi około 150 tysięcy dolarów.

Trzecie miejsce zajął Superman (354,184,465), zauważalnie różniąc się od 1 i 2 miejsca. Mimo finansowych kontrowersji i wątpliwości co do tego filmu, David Zaslav, Peter Safran i James Gunn ostatecznie podjęli dobrą decyzję. Film jest rozpoznawalny, wielu go widziało, wielu polubiło Supergirl po jej trailerze. Teraz zobaczymy, jak kuzynka Supermana poradzi sobie w kinie... No i sequel Supermana, który jest już w drodze. Tym razem zobaczymy Brainiaca (ma już aktora!).

Czwarte miejsce należy do Jurassic World (339,640,400). Nie byłem na nim w kinie i raczej go nie obejrzę (filmy ze słabą fabułą nie istnieją dla mnie, chyba że to śmieciowe kino), ale ja to ja. Większość uwielbia Dinozaury i trzeba się naprawdę postarać, by taka produkcja nie zarobiła.

Zootopia (5 miejsce) i Wicked (6 miejsce) zarobiły nieznacznie mniej od Dinozaurów. Zarobiły odpowiednio 337,903,155 i 335,438,675.

Sinners i F4 (7 i 8 miejsce) nieco odstają, ale ciągle zapewnił fajne pieniążki - 279,653,537 i 274,286,610.

Wszyscy podniecamy się Disneyem, a w tym roku rządziło co innego. Przepraszam, nie co, tylko kto. Ne Zha 2. Chiński film animowany, od każdego słyszałem że to mega dobra bajka. W Polsce miała tak biedną i tanią reklamę, że wyglądała dla mnie na animacje niższej klasy B, a nawet C. Na pewno nadrobię z Asią. 2,259,822,417 dolarów zarobku.

Drugie miejsce należy również do sequela, Zootopia 2. 1,746,011,063, czyli zauważalnie mniej. Brązowy medal należy się Avatar: Fire and Ash, który zarobił 1,380,273,171. Na 4 miejscu uplasował się Lilo & Stitch z kolejnym miliardem, a konkretnie - 1,038,027,526.

Tuż za nim uplasowała się F1: The Movie zarabiając 631,842,436 dolarów.
