[IGN Lies Again]
Although quite a few people disagree with me, fewer and fewer critics deny that there are editorial offices that offer more favorable reviews in exchange for advertising space. This isn't the first time IGN has reeked of lies. I understand that everyone evaluates subjectively, and I have no complaints about ordinary gamers. However, I can expect a reviewer to be reliable, and therefore partially objective. A 9/10 means a game is almost outstanding, and I don't think Marathon, another "okay, but nothing groundbreaking" title from Bungie, deserves such a high rating. Especially since Crimson Desert, from what I've seen, isn't getting the worst reviews. Certainly better than Marathon... Or is it just my imagination?

Anyway, that's why I try to be brutally honest in my writing. Do I sometimes lie? I try not to lie, but yes, sometimes I screw up my research in some way. Do I sometimes spew nonsense? Sure, that's a typical human trait. However, I follow a similar principle as in journalism – I try to tell everything I know about a given game and evaluate it as honestly as possible. Apparently, everyone does it, but everyone also tries to be nice... The road to hell is paved with good intentions, and critical reviews are better for game developers – because they're less biased. A certain political faction has been forcing people to be nicer for decades, and that's exactly what's happening. Developers are getting false feedback and doing a bad job.

According to Nintendo's plans, this year we're getting a remake of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and a new game in the Star Fox universe. Both series are hugely important to gaming – Zelda because of its save system, and Star Fox because it was one of the first great 3D games. I'm not familiar with Zelda, as I only remember it from gameplay videos broadcast on Game One, but I know Star Fox by heart. Today, there's no reason to play it... unless it's to see the graphics and their development since then. Even though the game had various technological limitations (simplified graphics, 10-16 FPS, etc.), everyone played it, licking their lips as if they were looking at the best possible pizza. Back then, those triangles were photorealism! And these are two games I'd gladly buy a Switch for.

I treat it like Avatar, Star Wars, or another blockbuster, only even more simplified. Or better yet, some kind of spin-off in this universe, but focused on action. I don't mind a rushed script, because in an adventure movie, other aspects matter.

Choć dość wielu ludzi się ze mną nie zgadza, to coraz mniej krytyków zaprzecza temu, że są redakcje które dają korzystniejsze opinie w zamian za miejsce reklamowe. Tym bardziej, że to nie pierwszy raz, gdy od IGN cuchnie kłamstwem. Ja rozumiem, że każdy ocenia subiektywnie i nie mam pretensji do zwykłych graczy. Natomiast mogę wymagać od recenzenta rzetelności, czyli częściowo też obiektywności. 9/10 oznacza grę niemal wybitną i nie sądzę by Marathon, czyli kolejny "ok tytuł, ale bez rewelacji" od Bungie, zasłużył na tak wysoką ocenę. Zwłaszcza że Crimson Desert z tego co widzę, zbiera nie takie najgorsze opinie. Na pewno lepsze niż w przypadku Marathon... Albo to kwestia mojej bańki?

Anyway, dlatego w swoich tekstach staram się być szczery do bólu. Czy czasem kłamię? Staram się nie kłamać, ale tak, czasem w jakimś aspekcie spieprzę research. Czy zdarza mi się pierdolić bzdury? No pewnie, to typowa cecha każdego człowieka xD. Niemniej kieruję się podobną zasadą, co przy dziennikarstwie - staram się mówić wszystko, co wiem na temat danej gry i ocenić ją jak najuczciwiej. Podobno wszyscy tak robią, ale wszyscy też starają się być mili... Dobrymi chęciami jest piekło wybrukowane, a krytyczne opinie są lepsze dla game developerów - bo są mniej zafałszowane. Pewna frakcja polityczna od dekad zmusza ludzi do bycia milszymi i takie są właśnie efekty. Developerzy dostają fałszywy feedback i robią złą robotę.

Jak wynika z planów Nintendo, mamy dostać w tym roku remake Zelda: Ocarina of Time i nową grę w uniwersum Star Fox. Obie serie mają gigantyczne znaczenie dla gamingu - Zelda z uwagi na system zapisu gry, a Star Fox bo był jedną z pierwszych świetnych gier 3D. Zeldy nie znam, bo kojarzę ją jedynie z gameplayów emitowanych na kanale Game One, ale Star Fox znam na pamięć. Dzisiaj nie ma powodu by w niego grać... No chyba, że w celu popatrzenia na grafikę i jej rozwój od tamtego czasu. Mimo, że gra miała różne ograniczenia technologiczne (uproszczona grafika, FPS-y 10-16 etc.) to wszyscy grali oblizując się, jakby widzieli najlepszą możliwą pizzę. Wtedy te trójkąty to był fotorealizm :)! I to są dwie gry, dla których bardzo chętnie kupię Switch.
