Putting aside all of this actor's strange behavior, his toxic faith, etc., Tom Cruise should have won this Oscar a long time ago... And under much better circumstances. The guy truly deserved it. For him, it cost him a year of worse quality of life, and for many families (and, as post-Covid history has shown, especially for filmmakers), it was a terrible period. And this isn't the only example of an attitude worthy of praise. He is highly praised for his strong work ethic and genuine, unfeigned tolerance (unlike most "modern" ones). Someone like that definitely didn't deserve to be given an award in such a pathetic way. It's like it was the supermarket employee of the year award, lol.

[Bafta vs. KPop]
After reading and considering the British arguments, I have no choice but to agree. I know the world has changed a bit, but rules are rules. Yes, Disney is acting a bit like a thug (or just an asshole), but thanks to their cooperation, they're gaining more viewers. Cinemas have money, young people have entry jobs, and we can enjoy the show in comfort. Netflix takes more money for itself. The Oscars and BAFTAs are also competitions for cinematic events, not just a measure of recognition. A lesson for Netflix that it's worth releasing its films in theaters. At least the better ones. Because another thing is that if we make an exception for a "shitty Netflix film" (and streaming has to make them; lots of people watch films "for some background noise" – it makes no sense to me, because that's when I turn on YouTube, but I understand the habit), more will follow. We need to put a stop to this.

To be honest, I'm intrigued. I haven't seen the movie Game Night, but I've heard very positive reviews about it. I did, however, see the new D&D, and despite its simplicity, it was incredibly enjoyable! Star Trek can be presented in a similar way (a fast-paced, fun adventure), and the characters are similar. I might even go to the cinema, as there aren't many good space sci-fi movies in theaters.

Po zapoznaniu się i przemyśleniu argumentów Brytyjczyków, nie pozostaje mi nic innego jak zgoda. Wiem, że świat się trochę zmienił, ale zasady to zasady. Tak, Disney zachowuje się trochę jak bandzior (albo po prostu dupek), ale dzięki ich współpracy zyskuje więcej ludzi. Kina mają pieniądze, młodzi ludzie mają entry jobs, my możemy cieszyć się seansem w komfortowych warunkach. Netflix zabiera więcej pieniędzy dla siebie. Oscary i BAFTA to tez konkursy kinowych wydarzeń, a nie tylko miernik rozpoznawalności. Nauczka dla Netflixa, że warto wypuszczać swoje filmy do kina. Przynajmniej te lepsze. Bo inna sprawa jest taka, że jak zrobimy wyjątek dla "gównianego filmu Netflixa" (a na streamingu muszą takie powstawać, mnóstwo ludzi ogląda filmy "dla jakiegoś szumu w tle" - dla mnie to bez sensu, bo włączam wtedy YouTube, ale rozumiem kwestię przyzwyczajenia), to pojawią się kolejne. Trzeba postawić temu tamę.
