Some trailers and my commentary - Super Mario, Saint Seiya Live Action, Guardians of the Galaxy 3, Transformers: Rise of the Beast, Indiana Jones, Cocaine Bear! // Kilka trailerów i mój komentarz do nich

Recently, there have been several trailers for important and expected productions. I didn't have the opportunity to discuss most of them in the news section, so I decided to write a casual entry.

"Guardians of the Galaxy"... Eh, I have a bit of a problem with this movie. Marvel movies bore me more and more (+ I can't enjoy them as much as years ago), and the fact that people with Excel spoil them even more (which will probably not change in 2023, because it will be some time before the new-old CEO of Disney will undo the stupid decisions of the old CEO). I don't feel like (at least not immediately, when they premiere) to watch them also because the creators have less competition restrictions or their own independent productions are much more interesting than another corporate product that must meet certain assumptions. Of course, there are better and worse movies, and James Gunn is one of those filmmakers who fall into the latter category, but they still suffer from the same limitations. I hope Gunn will at least keep part 1 and 2 level. Maybe Rocket's flashbacks will change my mind, and these are supposed to be an important element of GotG vol. 3.

I had several scripts for "Saint Seiya" - I rejected the very positive ones right away, because Bagiński has no experience as a director + the budget is not high. On the other hand, I didn't dismiss the possibility that it could be a good movie - one that falls into the 2nd tier of blockbusters (or is a solid 3rd tier product). What I saw on the 1st teaser gives hope for both such a cheaper action movie and "good shit" in the style of the continuation of "Venom". The effects and armor look cheap, but if he makes nice fight scenes, the pacing will be ok, and the plot won't give me cancer like the manga (although it started to get bad there after the 1st arc, so this criticism will probably not apply to the beginning), then maybe I'll be able to turn a blind eye to it.

As for Super Mario, I don't have much to add. The locations and characters look lovely, especially the model of Queen Peach (I especially like that face, a bit like Anya Taylor-Joy). I'm shocked that they managed to transfer so many elements from the game! I hope it will look as natural and cool as it seems to my imagination. And Donkey Kong, the hero of my childhood (I loved playing DKC on SNES), looks just like I imagined him. Also, great voice actors who have already bought me, even if the movie itself will be a slight disappointment. I don't know if I will go to the cinema, but I will definitely watch it!

As I've said many times, I'm not an Indiana fan. I've never seen the old movies and the earlier part was so shitty I turned it off after the monkey fight (I watched this movie with my mom and neighbor friend, all three of us made fun of it even though mom was his fangirl when she was a teenager ). Asia likes old parts, the trailer was quite good for her (worse for me, but I'm not the target audience), so as soon as it appears on D+, we will definitely watch it.

And now something that I have loved since I was a child. Since this franchise appeared in Poland. I don't know if I belonged to this 1st wave of fans in Poland, but I'm sure I have a long internship :D. I watched the whole G1 (like 3 times), the movie (over 30 times, like "End of Evangelion"), G2 (this one only). And I'm fucking delighted! The characters look exactly like in the cartoon and look natural, much better than in Bay's tfy "trilogy". If the film is on the level of Bumblebee, it could be the biggest hit in the history of this franchise when it comes to live-action films. Cullen as Optimus and Perlman as the monkey-transformer (forgot what his name is - I never saw "Beast Wars" in its entirety when it was on TV when I was a kid, it pissed me off because G1 was and is better IMO). I will try to go to the cinema when there are good reviews.

This will be the real hit though. I cried with laughter, and at some scenes I literally howled. I'm sure they'll spice up the story, but in that case I'm not going to protest. On the contrary - why limit yourself to real realities? Let your imagination run wild, this topic is begging for it!

Ostatnio pojawiło się kilka trailerów do ważnych i oczekiwanych produkcji. Nie miałem okazji omówić większości z nich w części z newsami, więc postanowiłem napisać taki luźny wpis.

"Guardians of the Galaxy"... Ech, mam trochę problem z tym filmem. Filmy Marvela nudzą mnie coraz bardziej (+ nie mogę czerpać z nich tak dużo radości, jak lata temu), a fakt, że ludzie z Excelem psują je jeszcze bardziej (co się nie zmieni raczej jeszcze w 2023 roku, bo minie trochę czasu, zanim nowy-stary CEO Disneya odkręci głupie decyzje starego CEO). Nie mam ochoty (przynajmniej nie odrazu, jak będą miały premierę), by je oglądać również dlatego, że twórcy mają mniejsze ograniczenia u konkurencji lub ich własne, niezależne produkcje są o niebo ciekawsze niż kolejny produkt dla korporacji, który musi spełniać pewne założenia. Oczywiście, są lepsze i gorsze filmy i James Gunn należy do tych twórców, którzy zapisali się w tej drugiej kategorii, no ale nadal cierpią na te same ograniczenia. Mam nadzieję, że Gunn przynajmniej utrzyma poziom 1 i 2 części. Może dzięki retrospekcjom Rocketa zmienię zdanie, a te podobno mają być ważnym elementem GotG vol. 3.

Wobec "Saint Seiya" miałem kilka scenariuszy - te bardzo pozytywne odrazu odrzuciłem, bo Bagiński nie ma doświadczenia jako reżyser + budżet nie jest wysoki. Z drugiej strony, nie odrzuciłem możliwości, że może to być dobry film - taki który łapie się w ramy 2-giej ligi blockbusterów (lub jest solidnym produktem z 3 ligi). To co zobaczyłem na 1 teaserze daje nadzieje zarówno na taki tańszy film akcji, jak i "dobre gówno" w stylu kontynuacji "Venom". Efekty i zbroje wyglądają tanio, ale jeżeli zrobi ładne sceny walki, pacing będzie ok, a fabuła nie da mi raka, jak manga (choć tam zaczęło się robić słabo dopiero po 1 arcu, więc ta krytyka raczej nie będzie się tyczyć początku), to może będę stanie na to przymknąć oko.

Jeżeli chodzi o "Super Mario", to nie mam zbyt wiele do dodania. Lokacje i postacie wyglądają ślicznie, zwłaszcza model Królowej Peach (podoba mi się zwłaszcza ta buzia, trochę podobna do Anyi Taylor-Joy). Jestem w szoku, że udało im się przenieść tyle elementów z gry! Mam nadzieję, że będzie to wyglądało równie naturalnie i fajnie, jak wydaje mi się mojej wyobraźni. No i Donkey Kong, czyli bohater mojego dzieciństwa (uwielbiałem grać w DKC na SNES), wygląda tak jak go sobie wyobrażałem. Poza tym świetni aktorzy głosowi, którzy już teraz mnie kupili, nawet jeżeli sam film będzie lekkim rozczarowaniem. Nie wiem, czy pójdę do kina, ale na pewno obejrzę!

Jak mówiłem wielokrotnie nie jestem fanem Indiany. Nigdy nie widziałem starych filmów, a wcześniejsza część była tak gówniana, że wyłączyłem ją po walce z małpami (oglądałem ten film jeszcze ze swoją mamą i przyjacielem-sąsiadem, cała nasza trójka drwiła z tego, mimo że mama była jego fangirl, gdy była nastolatką). Asia lubi stare części, trailer był dla niej całkiem niezły (dla mnie gorszy, no ale nie jestem docelowym odbiorcą), więc jak tylko się pojawi na D+, to na pewno go obejrzymy.

A teraz coś, co uwielbiam od dziecka. Odkąd ta franczyza się pojawiła w Polsce. Nie wiem, czy należałem do tej 1 fali fanów w Polsce, ale na pewno mam długi staż :D. Oglądałem całe G1 (ze 3 razy), film (ponad 30 razy, jak "End of Evangelion"), G2 (ten tylko raz). I jestem zajebiście zachwycony! Postacie wyglądają dokładnie tak, jak w kreskówce i prezentują się naturalnie, znacznie lepiej niż w tfy "trylogii" Baya. Jeżeli film będzie na poziomie "Bumblebee", to może być największy hit w historii tej franczyzy, jeśli chodzi o filmy aktorskie. Prawdziwym hitem będzie jednak to. Płakałem ze śmiechu, a przy niektórych scenach dosłownie wyłem. Na pewno podkręcą tę historię, ale w takim wypadku wyjątkowo nie będę protestował. Wprost przeciwnie - po co się ograniczać prawdziwymi realiami? Popuśćmy wodzy fantazji, taka tematyka aż się o to prosi!
