You've probably noticed that for the past few weeks we've had a flood of Studio Ghibli memes. A lot of people are outraged and screaming like animals in a cage that "people are losing their jobs". This is not true, or at least not in the way many people claim. Of course, there are some professions that got their asses kicked harder (e.g. photographers), but when it comes to most professions, AI only eliminated those who did repetitive work for beginners or simply lazy people. Apart from some exceptional cases, as a rule such people would lose their jobs sooner or later. If I'm repeating fake news, I apologize, but I hear such information from various industries and places. Mainly animation, film, gaming, programming.
As for the use of Ghibli, my opinion on this topic is simple: from the moment AI became one of the most important topics, it can't be stopped. It's like adult movies on the Internet - blocking it will cause more problems than benefits. We can only protect children from it. Additionally, there is no point in punishing ordinary users for having fun with it. Let's not repeat the extremely toxic behavior of the Japanese, who at one time wanted to make money on doujins, and even stretched their greedy paws even further. Just to be clear, I completely agree that all companies should pay huge fines. It doesn't matter if it's a big or small company. It can't be that someone discovered something or made a certain reputation for themselves, like Studio Ghibli, and someone steals it to make their own stuff en masse to make money from it.

Next year we'll get another adaptation of Masamune Shirow's original manga. It looks like we'll get something closer to the original show than the 1995 movie. Even though this one is iconic, it made some changes to the story. I don't know the comic, but I know that Motoko Kusanagi is more laid back and helpless in life. We also got to know the creators. The protagonist will probably be played by Maaya Sakamoto, who replaced the previous voice actress.

A propos głupoty i chciwości. Zawsze mnie dziwi, jak to jest że mądrzy ludzie, którzy zarabiają dużo pieniędzy, robią takie głupoty. Tym bardziej, że już od kilku dekad (a konkretniej, premiery Steama) mamy koncepcję, jak rozwiązać taki problem. A od premiery Netflixa, mamy gotowy pomysł. Piractwo można bardzo łatwo zaorać niższymi cenami i wyższą dostępnością. No ale po co, lepiej stosować anty konsumenckie praktyki i dziwić się, że ludzie piracą content xD. No i ceny wywindowane pod sufit, zamiast zrobić tak jak to robią cywilizowane kraje zachodu - produkt jest stary? Obniżamy cenę o 30-50%. To są resztki starej dostawy? Jeszcze większa obniżka. Pewnie zauważyliście, że od kilku tygodni mamy zalew memów ze studiem Ghibli. Mnóstwo ludzi się o to oburza i wrzeszczy jak zwierzęta w klatce, że "ludzie tracą pracę". Nie jest to prawda, a przynajmniej nie tak, jak to twierdzi wielu ludzi. Oczywiście, są pewne zawody, które mocniej dostały po tyłku (np. fotografowie), ale jeśli chodzi o większość zawodów, AI wyeliminowała jedynie tych, którzy wykonywali powtarzalną pracę dla osób początkujących lub zwyczajnie leniwych. Pomijając jakieś wyjątkowe przypadki, co do zasady tacy ludzie straciliby ją prędzej czy później. Jeżeli powielam fake newsy, to przepraszam, ale takie informacje słyszę z różnych branż i miejsc. Głównie animowanych, filmowych, gamingowych, programistycznych.
Jeśli chodzi o wykorzystywanie Ghibli, Moja opinia w tym temacie jest prosta: od momentu jak AI stało się jednym z najważniejszych tematów, nie da się tego zatrzymać. To jest jak filmy dla dorosłych w sieci - zablokowanie tego sprawi więcej problemów niż korzyści. Możemy tylko chronić dzieci przed tym. Dodatkowo nie ma sensu karać zwykłych użytkowników za bawienie się tym. Nie powielajmy skrajnie toksycznych zachowań Japończyków, którzy swego czasu chcieli zarabiać na doujinach, a nawet wystawiali swoje chciwe łapy jeszcze dalej. Żeby nie było, w pełni się zgadzam, że wszystkie firmy powinny płacić olbrzymie kary. Nie ważne, czy to duża, czy mała firma. Nie może być tak, że ktokolwiek coś odkrył lub wypracował sobie pewną renomę, jak studio Ghibli, a ktoś to sobie kradnie, by tworzyć masowo własne rzeczy, by na nich zarabiać.

W przyszłym roku dostaniemy kolejną adaptację oryginalnej mangi Masamune Shirow. Wygląda na to, że dostaniemy coś bliższego oryginalnemu show niż film z 1995.
