Can you guess where these movie scenes are from?

A really good way to study colors is to observe films. I love films as well and I myself had a lil bit of training with screenwriting so whenever I watch films, I always observe how they present colors and camera angles.

Another part of my color studies involve painting with forms and subjects rather than painting abstract. I found this website called FilmGrab which is a catalog of screenshots from films so artists and others have easy access to references. It's pretty awesome and this is what I used to find references to paint. :D

Can you guess where the scenes are from?

First one is an ideal composition for a complementary color palette with subjects in the center. Maybe an easy mode haha. I'm finding my style when it comes to color (a better one at least!) but also applying the style that I already like. So you can see those brushstrokes and the added thing from the head.

This one is probably harder since I only painted one subject instead of the three in the scene. This film was quite popular and also a bit controversial cos of how they presented the mental disorder. Honestly probably the only film that I know that tackles this disorder but I also don't really know a lot of films so. :P

This also fits the concept that I usually do with my paintings so it was a delight making it.

This one's quite random I would say haha but a really good screengrab by FilmGrab. I was looking for anything nude so I can also paint like my style and when I saw this, I immediately thought of Francis Bacon.

I don't think you'll be able to guess but if you can then you're a genius. XD

For this one, I really focused on the contrast which you can see from the subject vs the background. A lot of times I really don't think about contrast I guess because painting takes a lot of time and I just somehow forget about it. I followed a color palette from a color palette generator and just chose whatever colors I think might be appropriate when it comes to placement.

Of course I applied my style there too lol.
