In all films, you find that there is something that attracts your attention in terms of events, artistic plot, distinguished acting performance, or even in the current films, such as wonderful graphics and visual effects, but in this film, which was released in 1994, there was something different in addition to all of this.

The story of the movie

The story of the film begins with the court and Andy Dufferin's imprisonment after he is accused of killing his wife. Another scene comes in which the counselors reject the innocence of Ellis Boyd 'Red'. From here, the events begin in the prison, which was teeming with defendants, most of whom were charged with life imprisonment.

After Andy Dufferin goes to prison, he meets Red, who he admires, and they become friends. It is common knowledge that a new prisoner is subject to humiliation and torture, and this is what happened with Andy's friend, who died after receiving blows from the warden.

But with all these events, we find that Andy gained a lot of friends and also gained respect from the prison director after he proved his intelligence in accounting, where he began laundering money for the prison director in exchange for getting a library in the prison to work in and getting more prison.

And then a new story begins of money laundering by Andy Dorfren in exchange for the suspicious actions of the prison director until Andy takes advantage of one of the rainy litters to escape out of the prison.

Why is the movie so special?

Although we have seen a lot of prison escape stories in movies and series, this movie is really special not because of the excellent acting performance, but because of the plot that only took us towards the escape at the beginning when Andy asked Red to bring him a hammer so that we all doubt It's a way to escape.

But like Reid's reaction, we were all frustrated when we saw a small hammer that was never fit to dig through walls and escape, and the film became a one-way street, work in prison and development, and without any hints about escaping.

In the end, we are surprised, just like the prison director, that Andy took years to dig a tunnel through that little hammer and escape out of the prison, and not only that he managed to deceive the director and stole all the money he had been collecting for him all those years.

The element of surprise that the director did at the end of the film is what amazed all viewers and what made the film an immortal icon over all those years.

I believe what made the movie special is because it wasn't just a prison break movie, but rather finding a way out of mental imprisonment created by the past, also an escape from the system itself and its control of you.
