CineTV Contest: Your Favorite Animated Feature Film

Greetings CineTV friends, it is a pleasure for me to participate in this fun animated movie contest, special to remember the best time of our lives.

Fairy godmothers exist, maybe they don't have magic wands or wear funny hats, but they are there, they are people who save us in the worst moments of our lives. In the cartoons we find all that and how it gladdens our hearts, to see how from a gloomy state can suddenly appear happiness and that phrase that never fails...and they were happy forever.

That is the achievement and when we are children we believe in it and all thanks to animated films, which fill our world with magic and color. For this contest I have chosen only the films that have touched my heart and that's why they are my favorites.

Snow White

I was very little and I saw it at the cinema with my parents. They were at that stage of introducing me to those stories that today are still a classic on the big screen and the stories they like to read to the little ones before bedtime.

Snow White, so called because of her skin color, was despised for her beauty and the envy of her stepmother, who sends her to kill her without success. Behind her back she found happiness in the company of 7 dwarfs who worked all day and when they got home they found the love and attention of Snow White. I remember with terror that scene where she ran terrified through the forest, lost, she had been abandoned there so she could live and that moment was of great anguish for me. That dark night gave a tenebrous hue to all the elements of the forest and I started to cry, the figures were frightening and even more so for a child. I suffered Snow White's abandonment in that dark and gloomy forest, but I also experienced her happiness when she found the cabin of the 7 dwarfs.

This joy did not last long when a seemingly sweet old lady gave her a poisoned apple and she fell into a deep sleep. All around her everyone was crying, she was so good...her only sin was to be born and be the prettiest in the forest. A loving kiss from a handsome prince brought her back to life...and they were happy ever after. I also remember that the dwarfs put an end to the witch who had poisoned her.

The message was clear, the one who does good is rewarded and the bad one receives his punishment. So, these animated movies not only entertained us but also transmitted a message for life itself. Perhaps I have gone on too long, but how could I not, if this was one of the first films of this genre that I saw.

Cinderella

Who did not see this plot full of magic? A girl whose kindness was rewarded with eternal happiness, forever, until the end of her days. She suffered a lot at the side of her stepmother and her two stepsisters. Everything was gray for this character, and she really seemed to have no way out of her misfortune. I always wonder what would have become of her without the Fairy Godmother and those unconditional friends she found in the mice and birds.

There were traps, trickery, evil intent, but in the end good triumphed. I loved the fact that Cinderella, even in bad times, was still good and kind. The scene that impacted me, that I do not forget and that is why I try to follow her example today, was when they tore her dress and she cried inconsolably. She repeated over and over again "I have nothing left, I don't believe in anything or anyone". Truly everything seemed lost, it was unfair everything bad that happened to her, but thanks to magic, her life changed. Suddenly, a little old lady appeared, asking for bread. In the midst of her tears, pain and grief, she very kindly gave her a piece of bread, that touched me and I will never forget it, that is true kindness and that gesture made her great.

It turns out that that old lady was a Fairy Godmother, who granted her a magical night that would give her life an unexpected turn. And who knows, if Cinderella had not reacted the way she did, would the fairy have helped her, maybe not, it is a question I ask myself lately, that is why there is a very popular saying in my land that says "do good and don't look at who", you never know. We must always be kind, even in bad times. The ending could not be better, she married the prince and they were happy forever. From this classic there are two more films, Cinderella II and Cinderella III, in which this noble young woman once again demonstrates how much goodness is in her wonderful heart.

The Fox and the Hound

This is a classic from the 1600's as we say in my country, I think I was not older than 9 years old. This movie caught my attention because it's about animals and I love them, it's a natural born thing that I can't explain. We watched it at home on VHS, that's why I say it was in the 1600's, the whole family was present, my parents, my brother and a cousin who lived with us.

The adults were fascinated, as they found it funny and described the movie in a wonderful way, good for the directors and the librettist. Here if I confess, I don't like to be seen crying, as I was with the family I had to hold back my tears and bite my lips to not show my sadness.

The story centers around a puppy, a hunting dog named Toby and a fox named Tod, unaware of their differences in nature, they become friends. They swear eternal friendship to each other, but when they grow up, they realize that they cannot be friends, since their destiny is to be enemies because of what nature bestows on them.

In this movie some scenes made me feel very sad, and for sure, that has not changed, I would cry again if I saw them again. Tod was a mischievous fox who had been adopted by an old woman, and she became very fond of him. However, as he frequently broke into the henhouse of a grumpy old neighbor, so that he would not be killed, the woman decided to abandon him in the woods. That scene broke my heart, the old woman was crying as she drove to the fateful place, while Tod was happy, thinking he was being taken for a ride.

The old woman left him in the forest, but Tod did not understand anything, he wanted to go with her again. The car left and it was a horrible night for that little fox who had been living in the care of a human. Of course, it was the best decision, he had to live in his natural habitat. It was hard at first, like everything else, but then he adapted.

The other scene that made an impact was when Toby and Tod face each other, they fight but then unite to save their lives from the claws of a ferocious bear that attacks them. Life was never the same again, but they knew deep down there was a friendship that was broken by nature. The final scene made me cry, because each one continued with their lives, in the midst of their loneliness they remembered the words that were profaned when they were little, "Toby you are my best friend", "Yes, Tod, we will always be friends, no matter what".

Alice in Wonderland

This is another classic that I loved, and believe it or not I saw it as an adult. I had always heard of this film, but I had not had the opportunity to see it. I liked that despite being a child, Alice resolved very well the situations in which she was immersed. This somewhat rebellious girl, without realizing it, fell asleep and lived endless adventures while chasing a white rabbit and closely followed the follies of a cat. Each situation taught her a lesson and when she finally woke up, she realized that nothing was real, it was just a crazy dream. The experience helped her to value her home, her life and above all to be obedient.

I loved the fiction of the film and had a lot of fun with the situations she had to face. Some scenes bored me a little, like the mad hatter and "happy unbirthday".

The Secret Life of Your Pets

This is one of the 3D animated movies I watched recently, now as an adult I'm not attracted to the children's genre. It's been a while since I saw it and it was because I had no choice, I was traveling by sea and well... they showed the movie and I started watching it.

From the beginning I liked it, too funny and funny from its initial scenes, it caught me, so much, that we arrived at the destination and I stayed to finish watching it, one of the guards had to tell me it was time to leave the ship, hehe.

The Secret Life of Your Pets alludes to what your pets do while you are not at home. This reminded me a bit of Toy Story, the toys came to life when they were left alone. In this movie you could see some dogs getting bored while waiting for their masters, others stuck to the door of the house all day, others danced or ran away, in short, it was very funny scenes, as they behaved most of the time as if they were not animals.

It all starts with a dog named Max who lives alone with his owner Katie, but loses some attention when she brings him another companion, Duke. The situation derives in a rivalry that later turns into friendship in order to get out of some adverse situations and that's why they live together the most unimaginable adventures. I love horror, but I also love laughter. If you want to have fun, this movie is a great option.

This was my participation today, each of these animated feature films meant the beginning of my childhood and the way to know the magic of the stories, the fun and the wonderful messages they want to transmit. Would I watch them again, of course I would, I would not miss them for anything.
