A Thrilling Ride: My Review of Bad Influencers
I just finished watching the movie Bad Influencers and I am so giddy. Nothing prepared me for the weight of crime that could be wrapped in a simple bag business in the movie.
I was literally holding my breath for BK the main character. If she could hear me from the screen, she'd probably hear me screaming and begging her not to make certain decisions.

PS: There will be a few spoilers here and there, be warned.
About the Movie
Bad influencers centres on a single mum with an eight year old special needs child who fights her way through various storms of life to become a better mum for her son. In a bid to achieve this, she ventures into so many shady businesses that land her in so much trouble.
The Plot
We are introduced to the very courageous BK, who isn't scared in the face of danger rather finds a way out. Bk is a seamstress in Johannesburg, a good one at that. She specializes in recreating designer bags. She has a knack for creating fake designer bags that are as good as the originals.

To provide and cater for her son’s needs, BK decides to take her counterfeit business a notch higher with the help of an influencer Pinky, and a few bad guys in the neighborhood, together they produce tons of fake designer bags which are smooth and clean, just like the originals.
By creating an online persona and reaching the right audience on social media, BK and Pinky were able to sell a lot of these bags.
Things get messy when BK unknowingly falls in love with a cop, not just any cop but the one in charge of the anti-counterfeit department who was investigating BK and the chief master mind (Bra Alex) business.

For her new expanded business, BK made sure her social media presence was greatly felt by all of Johannesburg and sundry. Despite the massive sales, BK and her partner Pinky lived in constant fear and terror but BK did an amazing job of keeping the duo calm.
My thoughts about the movie
Just like Money Heist, this was a similar movie where viewers are forced to take the side of BK despite her committing a crime. We are thrown into a state of constant ethical conflict as we wish she never gets caught, funny right? Are some crimes justifiable?

BK is a strong South African woman who showed grit, resilience, and courage. BK was fierce, concealing her emotions and facing fear in the face eye to eye. She wasn’t just a pretty face but a smartypants with courage. She was always two steps ahead of everyone, she played her cards right, damning all the consequences, and remained calm even in prison.
BK is the type of lady you see on your screen and you keep shouting “GO girl!” Because she was truly on fire!!
I had an amazing time watching this movie and I love the theme, plot, setting, cinematography, language, and every single thing there is in the movie.
Given that I have never watched a movie with such a beautiful storyline I’ll rate it a 9/10.

Are you looking for something nice with a sprinkle of crime, love, and violence? I strongly recommend Bad Influencers, you’ll love it!
