Westworld Season 1 was full of mind-blowing existential questions

Westworld Season 1 can, in my opinion, only be compared to the Blade Runner series in terms of existentialism regarding consciousness.

By the way, if you are going to watch Blade Runner, please, read the book first, the book is much more detailed and disappoints no one, differently from the movie that disappointed some fans (not me though).

I have only watched the season 1 until writing this. I know it is an old series, but it was recommended to me recently, so I have started watching and just finished this first season today.

I was expecting it to have some basic reflections as to what makes us humans, and what gives us consciousness, but I wasn't expecting it to be presented the way it was. I was positively surprised by the delivery of those topics in the show. I mean, it is a good proposal, that could have gone very wrong, so congratulations to the writers!

I like a bit of existential dread. I bet that, if you have watched it too, at some point during the first season you have had to pause it and as ask to yourself "am I a robot too?" because the series makes you question who is and who is not, and what makes a robot different from a human.

I will try to watch the next season slowly, but I am very curious to see what happens next, so I will have to hold myself back. This first season ended in a drastic way. Of course shows are made to transition like that from season to season, to keep the viewers hooked, so yes, I was caught in the hook... I will have to renew my HBO subscription...
