A story to tell, an event hard to forget..
One of the things I like most about cinema is how through these feature films we can visualize events or stories that happened in real life, and how they reflect in a certain way everything that the people who went through these tragic and devastating situations lived through.
I remember when I did my internship in an oil company, the most famous and recognized in my country, it was there where for the first time I began to develop myself in the business world, surrounded by terms such as oil wells, barrels, oil plants, among others.
Then, when I started working in the professional field, I was in contact with people who worked with those heavy equipment to extract oil and drilling, I remember that I saw them closely, I had no idea what each one was, the terms hydraulic keys, hook block or wedge, or top drive, was what was handled, there was always movement, they had to be always with their safety equipment, boots, helmet and their respective braga.
When I saw this movie called Deep Horizon, for the first time, I remembered some of these terms, but especially some equipment, which could be visualized in the same, since the story of this film took place on an oil platform.
Based on a real event, we have a story that reflects a tragic accident that occurred on an oil platform located in the Gulf of Mexico, in 2010, where several people died, hundreds of injured, but above all a great damage to the environment, with the oil spill, what was the cause of this, I think it remains a big question mark to this day, but it was certainly caused by man, which contracted a huge catastrophe, damaging the marine habitat.
This film is a sample of all the enormous work that these people do, the risk they run when working in a place like this, there are many accidents they can suffer, and if we talk about this catastrophic event, it is hard to imagine, everything they had to do to survive and get out of there.
A completely remote place, in the middle of nowhere, which leads them to be separated from their families for several months, they must be fully prepared and equipped for any eventuality, but how to imagine that something like this could happen, this tragedy caused huge losses, where millions of barrels were poured into the ocean, causing one of the biggest disasters in the world, not to mention the lives that were lost, those men who for doing their job, put their lives at risk.
Among the performances, we have Mark Wahlberg (Mike Williams), as one of the main characters, playing the role of one of the technicians and expert in the area, who abandons his family to fulfill this job, he never imagined that he would be caught in this disaster, and that he had to fight with all his being, to get out of there alive and return home.
We can also see the famous actress Kate Hudson (Felicia Williams), playing the role of the wife of Mark Wahlberg, as well as the actor Kurt Russell (Jimmy Harrel) as the director and head of the plant, where he also risked his life to protect and save his team.
On the other hand, we can see scenes full of action, explosions, suspense, and drama, where everyone will have to fight to survive, get out of that place, and try as much as possible that the disaster is not greater, thus putting their lives at risk, but the damage was done, they only had to get out of the platform, this is where we see the desperation, fear taking over them.
A part that impacted me was the end, where we can see a completely traumatized man, just remembering everything he lived through, what happened, the wounds on his body, without a doubt I can not imagine everything he must have felt at that moment, this is a trauma for anyone who goes through an eventuality like this, it was practically a miracle, in which most of them managed to survive and get out of that tragic place.
Deep Horizon, shows us a crude reality, of the dangers of working in places like this, no matter how prepared you are, no one prepares you to overcome a trauma of this magnitude, but above all, to prevent this from happening, as I said a human error, the man for wanting to be right, to demonstrate and fight against the current, against the sensible, makes him commit all kinds of acts, without thinking about the consequences, was the perception that we were shown here, but to know for sure what happened, because only those who were there know it.
This film was released in 2016, 6 years after this tragic accident occurred, a considerable time to collect all the different stories of what the people who were there lived, also reflecting the different scenes of heroism and action, where everyone did their best to help others, and get out all alive.
Undoubtedly this is a story worth seeing again and again, for my part I like many of these movies that are based on real events, if you have not seen it, I recommend it, and if you already did, tell me what you thought.

Una de las cosas que más me gusta del cine, es como a través de estos largometrajes podemos visualizar eventos o historias que sucedieron en la vida real, y como ellos nos reflejan de cierta forma todo lo que vivieron las personas que pasaron por estas situaciones trágicas, y tan devastadoras para ellos.
Recuerdo cuando hice mis pasantías, en una empresa petrolera, la más famosa y reconocida en mi país, fue allí donde por primera vez empecé a desenvolverme en ese mundo empresarial, rodeada de términos como pozos petroleros, barriles, plantas petroleras, entre otros.
Luego, cuando comencé ya a trabajar en el campo profesional, estuve en contacto con personas que trabajaban con esos equipos pesados para extraer el petróleo y su perforación, recuerdo que los vi de cerca, no tenía idea de que era cada uno, los términos llaves hidráulicas, bloque de gancho o cuña, o top drive, era lo que se manejaba, siempre había movimiento, ellos tenían que estar siempre con su equipo de seguridad, botas, casco y su respectiva braga.
Cuando vi esta película llamada Horizonte Profundo, por primera vez, recordé algo de estos términos, pero sobre todo algunos equipos, que se pudieron visualizar en la misma, ya que la historia de este film se desarrolló en una plataforma petrolera.
Basada en un hecho real, tenemos una historia que nos refleja un trágico accidente que ocurrió en una plataforma petrolera ubicada en el Golfo de México, en el año 2010, donde murieron varias personas, cientos de heridos, pero sobre todo un gran daño al medioambiente, con el derrame del petróleo, a que se debió esto, creo que sigue siendo una gran interrogante hasta el día de hoy, pero que sin duda fue causado por el hombre, el cual contrajo una enorme catástrofe, dañando el hábitat marino.
Esta película es una muestra de todo el enorme trabajo que realizan estas personas, el riesgo que corren al trabajar en un sitio así, son muchos los accidentes que pueden sufrir, y si hablamos de este evento tan catastrófico, es algo difícil de imaginar, todo lo que tuvieron que emplear para sobrevivir y poder salir de allí.
Un lugar completamente alejado, en el medio de la nada, el cual los conlleva a estar separado de sus familias, por varios meses, deben estar completamente preparados y equipados, para cualquier eventualidad, pero como imaginar que algo así podía ocurrir, esta tragedia provoco enormes pérdidas, donde millones de barriles fueron vertidos en el océano, causando uno de los mayores desastres en el mundo, sin dejar de mencionar las vidas que se perdieron, esos hombres que por cumplir con su trabajo, pusieron en riesgo sus vidas.
Entre las actuaciones, tenemos a Mark Wahlberg (Mike Williams), como uno de los personajes principales, interpretando el papel de uno de los técnicos y experto en el área, el cual abandona a su familia para cumplir con este trabajo, jamás se imaginó que iba a verse atrapado en este desastre, y que tenía que luchar con todo su ser, para poder salir con vida de allí y regresar a casa.
También podemos ver a la famosa actriz Kate Hudson (Felicia Williams), interpretando el papel de la esposa de Mark Wahlberg, así como el actor Kurt Rusell (Jimmy Harrel) como el director y jefe de la planta, donde también arriesgo su vida, con tal proteger y salvar a su equipo.
Por otro lado, podemos ver escenas llenas de acción, explosiones, suspenso, y drama, donde cada uno tendrá que luchar para sobrevivir, salir de ese lugar, y tratar en lo posible que el desastre no sea mayor, poniendo de esta forma su vida en riesgo, pero ya el daño estaba hecho, solo les quedaba lograr salir de la plataforma, es aquí donde vemos la desesperación, el miedo apoderándose de ellos.
Una parte que me impacto fue el final, donde podemos ver un hombre completamente traumatizado, el solo recordar todo lo que vivió, lo que paso, las heridas en su cuerpo, sin duda no puedo imaginar todo lo que debió sentir en ese momento, esto es un trauma para cualquiera que pasa por una eventualidad como esta, fue prácticamente un milagro, en el que la mayoría lograra sobrevivir y salir de ese trágico lugar.
Horizonte Profundo, nos muestra una cruda realidad, de los peligros que conlleva trabajar en lugares así, por más preparados que se esté, nadie te prepara para superar un trauma de esta magnitud, pero, sobre todo, el evitar que esto ocurra, como dije un error humano, el hombre por querer tener la razón, por demostrar y luchar contra la corriente, contra lo sensato, le hace cometer todo tipo de actos, sin pensar, en las consecuencias, fue la percepción que nos mostraron aquí, pero de saber a ciencia cierta que ocurrió, pues solo los que estuvieron allí lo saben.
Este film se estrenó en el año 2016, 6 años después de cuando ocurrió este trágico accidente, un tiempo considerable para recabar todos los distintos relatos de lo que vivieron las personas que estuvieron allí, reflejándonos también las distintas escenas de heroísmo y acción, donde cada uno hizo lo posible ayudar a los demás, y lograr salir todos con vida.
Sin duda este es una historia que vale la pena ver, una y otra vez, por mi parte a mí me gustan muchas estas películas que son basadas en hechos reales, si no la has visto, te lo recomiendo, y si ya lo hiciste, dime que te pareció.

I saw it some time ago, it's based on a real event about a pipeline accident. Good movie, I think I got it several times on a cable channel.
