[Movie] Movie: Salve Geral: Irmandade
There are movies that don't leave any impression on you—they have a good plot, but they fail to delve deeper into the scenes and the story itself. I saw this movie a while back, and I have to admit, it was a waste of time.
Hay películas que no te causan ninguna sensación, que tienen una buena trama, pero les falta profundizar en las escenas y la historia en sí. Hace un tiempo que vi esta película, y les confieso, fue una pérdida de tiempo.
🎬 Salve Geral: Irmandade
La Hermandad is a crime drama centered on a criminal organization in crisis following the imprisonment of its leaders, but the plot revolves primarily around a woman named Cristina, who tries to save the life of her niece, Elisa, after she is kidnapped by corrupt police officers. In her attempt to rescue her, Cristina finds herself caught up in a wave of violence.
The movie runs for 1 hour and 40 minutes, and believe me, it felt like an eternity to me. No matter how hard I tried to understand and make sense of the movie, I just couldn’t. I remember watching it when I was in Valencia; my cousin put it on because she’d read and heard good reviews about it, and she was curious. However, just like me, she was disappointed. There’s no denying, as I said, that it has a good plot and action scenes; however, those scenes were nonsensical, and the way the action unfolded detracted from the film. It has an extremely slow-paced script and nonsensical action scenes.
This is a Brazilian production that shows us the streets of São Paulo filled with chaos, like a battlefield, with clashes, rampant corruption, police running amok, and innocent people caught in the middle of a senseless, unchecked war.
I’ve read that this story resembles another one called City of God; I haven’t seen it, but if it’s related to that one, it deals with the same theme—that the good guys aren’t so good, and the bad guys never get a second chance.
La hermandad es una película de drama y crimen, basada en una organización criminal que se encuentra en crisis tras el encarcelamiento de sus líderes, pero la trama se basa más que todo en esta mujer, Cristina, quien trata de salvar la vida de su sobrina Elisa, tras ser secuestrada por policías corruptos. En su intento por rescatarla, se verá envuelta en una ola de violencia.
La película tiene una duración de 1 hora y 40 minutos, y créanme, para mí se me hizo eterno. Por más que intenté entender y darle sentido a la película, no pude. Recuerdo haberla visto cuando estuve en Valencia; mi prima la puso porque había leído y escuchado buenas referencias de ella, y tenía curiosidad. Sin embargo, al igual que yo, quedó decepcionada. No se puede negar, como dije, que tiene una buena trama, sus escenas de acción; sin embargo, eran escenas sin sentido, y la manera en la que se daban las acciones le restaba valor. Tiene un guion sumamente lento y unas escenas de acción sin sentido.
Esta es una producción brasileña, donde nos muestra las calles de São Paulo llenas de caos, como en un campo de batalla, con enfrentamientos, la corrupción a flor de piel, con los policías haciendo de las suyas, personas inocentes que quedan en el medio de una guerra sin freno y sin sentido.
He leído que esta historia se asemeja a otra denominada Ciudad de Dios; no la he visto, pero si la relaciona con esta, tiene que ver con este tema, de que los buenos no son tan buenos y los malos nunca se salvan.
Maybe some people thought it was amazing, but it didn't really impress me. As I said, it has a good plot, scenes of violence, chaos, and moments of tension; even so, the characters didn't live up to the setting, and the performances were a bit lackluster, without well-developed character arcs.
But that's just my opinion; maybe you'll find it more impressive and enjoyable. I invite you to watch it and then share your thoughts.
Quizás para algunos fue una maravilla, pero a mí no me causó una gran sensación. Como dije, tiene una buena trama, escenas de violencia, caos, momentos de tensión; aun así, los personajes no cubrieron con el escenario, y las actuaciones fueron algo flojas, sin un desarrollo bien construido.
Pero esta es mi opinión; quizás para ustedes sí les cause mayor sensación y gusto. Los invito a verla y luego compartan su percepción.

Something similar happened to me with the last film I watched – although I liked it more than some other Netflix films, I also feel that at times it seems as though they aren’t following a script and everything just happens at random. It’s really disappointing to come across a film, think it’s good, and then find out it’s the opposite. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this film 🤗
It's true, sometimes movies promise a lot and deliver nothing. I'll try to watch it and see what it's like.
