Lee Cronin's The Mummy (2026)

We focus on a family living in Egypt. The father is a journalist conducting research, and the mother is a pregnant nurse. They work together with their two young children to live harmoniously until one day their youngest daughter is kidnapped. Despite their extensive search, she is never found. Eight years later, she is discovered inside a sarcophagus, mummy-like. During her recovery and return home, something is amiss, and various anomalies and paranormal events begin to occur, revealing the true entity within the girl's body and what they will have to confront.

Nos centramos en una familia que se encuentra en Egipto debido a que el padre de esta familia es periodista y está realizando investigaciones, y la madre es enfermera embarazada, trabajando mutuamente junto a sus dos pequeños hijos para vivir armoniosamente, hasta que un día la pequeña hija es raptada y, por más que buscan, no aparece. Pasados ocho años, es encontrada dentro de un sarcófago como si fuera una momia y, en su recuperación y regreso a casa, algo no va bien con ella y comienzan a pasar diversas anomalías y sucesos paranormales que van revelando el verdadero ente que está dentro del cuerpo de la niña y a lo que se tendrán que enfrentar.

I must say, this movie is very good in terms of suspense. Literally, even when they show you what it's about, you don't really expect how graphic and unexpected it becomes. At first, it seems like something similar to others, but it plays with the grotesque in a way that surprises you. Of course, it's important to clarify that it's not for the faint of heart or those with sensitive minds in some aspects, but it's still quite exciting. Even my grandmother, who also likes horror movies, was completely hooked and is totally engrossed in watching it. Because yes, this movie is good; it draws you in. It doesn't scare you, but it impacts your mind in a positive way, creating, from my point of view, a good balance between the mummy and supernatural themes.

Debo decir que esta película es muy buena en cuanto a su suspenso, pues, literal, aun cuando te muestran de qué va, no te esperas realmente lo gráfica e inesperada que llega a ser. En un principio, enseña que era algo por decir igual a otras, pero juega de una forma con el punto grotesco que te sorprende. Claro, hay que aclarar que no es para estómagos y mentes sensibles en algunos aspectos, pero aun así es bastante emocionante. Incluso a mi abuela, a quien también le gustan las películas de terror, la enganchó totalmente y está concentradísima viéndola. Porque sí, esta película es buena, te envuelve, no te asusta, pero te impacta en la mente de buena manera, generando, desde mi punto de vista, un buen balance en lo que es la temática de momias y lo sobrenatural.

Personally, I feel it's a very good film, and it's especially noteworthy that, despite so much censorship and the fear of creating graphic content like before, this film takes a chance and succeeds. It gave me that old-school vibe, where there wasn't the fear of doing something grotesque or playing with certain elements, so I highly recommend it. Personalmente, siento que es una película muy buena y le suma puntos el tema de que, con tanta censura y ese miedo a hacer contenido gráfico como antes, en esta se apostará con un buen resultado. Me dio esa vibra de las producciones de antes, donde no estaba el miedo a hacer algo grotesco o jugar con ciertos elementos, por lo que es muy recomendable para ver desde mi pequeña recomendación.
