Paddington : Jungle Adventure (2024)
Hi everyone, one thing I think is already well known is that I love animated adventure movies; you could say they're the ones I watch most often. Lately, it's become a regular thing to have movie nights or early mornings with friends, some a bit quirky and others just plain funny. A while ago, we came across a movie that we thought would be simple, but it completely captivated me, so I definitely enjoyed it a lot. And since I've seen that there's more to this peculiar character in these kinds of stories, today I'll give you my brief opinion on "Paddington." "Jungle Adventure," also known as "Paddington in Peru."
Hola a todos, una cosa que ya creo es bien sabida es el hecho de que me gustan las películas que son animadas y de aventuras; podría decirse que son de las que más veo, y últimamente se ha estado haciendo cotidiano y seguido tener noches o madrugadas de películas en compañía, algunas un poco curiosas y otras divertidas. Y hace un tiempo dimos con una película que pensamos sería sencilla, pero que me terminó enganchando completamente, por lo que sin duda me gustó mucho. Y pues, aprovechando un poco que pude ver que hay más de este personaje peculiar de estas tramas, hoy les daré mi pequeña opinión acerca de "Paddington". "Aventura en la selva" o conocido también como "Paddington en Perú".
Directed by Dougal Wilson and written by Mark Burton, Jon Foster, and James Lamout, this action-comedy film blends digital animation with live-action actors and is the third installment in the Paddington Bear adventure series (I should mention that I came across this one first, and only recently saw another film in the series). It premiered in November 2024 in the UK and in January 2025 in the US. The film tells the story of a new adventure for this peculiar bear, who, along with his family, travels to Peru to visit his Aunt Luci. There, they discover that she seems to have set off for an unknown and mysterious place, thus setting the stage for them to explore the jungle and uncover something unknown.
Dirigida por Dougal Wilson y escrita por Mark Burton, Jon Foster y James Lamout, es una película de acción y comedia, mezclando animación digital con actores reales y siendo esta la tercera entrega de este mundo de aventuras del oso Paddington (debo decir que yo me topé con esta primero y hasta hace poco pude ver otra de la misma). Esta se estrenó en noviembre de 2024 en Reino Unido y en enero de 2025 en Estados Unidos. Nos cuenta entonces una nueva aventura para este oso tan peculiar, donde en compañía de su familia se embarcan a Perú para visitar a su tía Luci, descubriendo así que esta parece haber emprendido un rumbo hacia un lugar desconocido y misterioso, creando así los elementos para explorar la selva y dar con algo desconocido.
One thing I love is how they blend the plot with the local wildlife and nature, giving us several nods to other films and making that well-known reference to the golden fish and how it fits into the bear's story. Incidentally, my impression of him is quite curious, as he's a noble and innocent character, yet he attracts many unexpected things from his surroundings. The mystery they build as the story unfolds is simply excellent and I'd say it really captivated me while watching it, as did seeing actors like Antonio Banderas in action, which reminded me of those films where his peculiar brand of humor shines through, which I feel adds a special touch. It's a film that doesn't try to be entirely fantastical, nor does it try to be confined to a single style, since the way they integrate digital art makes it feel even more realistic, as does the sound design. It completely immerses the viewer.
Algo que me gusta es cómo van mezclando la trama con la fauna y naturaleza del lugar, dándonos varios guiños a otras películas y haciendo esta referencia tan conocida a lo que es el dorado y cómo se adapta a la historia de este oso. Por cierto, mi impresión con él es bastante curiosa, ya que es un personaje noble e inocente, pero que justamente atrae muchas cosas inesperadas en su entorno. El misterio que le van poniendo mientras avanza es simplemente muy bueno y podría decirse que me enganchó mucho mientras la veía, así como ver actores como Antonio Banderas en acción, justo haciendo que recuerde esas películas donde está presente su peculiar comedia, que siento le da el toque. Es una película que no busca ser fantasiosa del todo ni tampoco dejar de lado o encasillar en un solo estilo, ya que el cómo integran el arte digital hace que se sienta aún más realista de lo que es, así como la ambientación sonora. Sumerge completamente a quien lo ve.
Personally, I really enjoyed it; beyond making us laugh, I feel it's designed so that its comedy hooks you into what you're seeing, from the elaborate villains to the fantastical elements that don't quite make you question how they got there. Even so, it still leaves you wanting more, and in my case, wanting to see the other two adventures to discover more about this peculiar little bear. Personalmente, disfruté mucho; más allá de hacernos reír, siento que está diseñada para que su comedia haga de enganche a lo que vamos observando, para, desde lo elaborado de los villanos hasta la fantasía en algunas cosas que no hacen cuestionarse del todo cómo llegan hasta ese punto. Aun así, no deja de generar esa sensación de querer ver más y, justamente en mi caso, el querer ver las otras dos de estas aventuras para así descubrir más de este peculiar osito.
