I mean, what the hell, the Takamura guy, a senile old guy who is probably blind and mute. Because I haven't seen him interact with any other character, his katana does all the talking. Throughout the season, he never said a single word. But he did make the antagonist run away, tail between his legs. Takamura is just pure violence. But this got me thinking, almost all the anime have these old fellows who are ready to kick ass and put the Main characters through some pain and shame. The saying is true. Respect the old men who are in professions where men die young.

Bleach has Captain of the 1st Division Yamamoto. Ideally, this guy shouldn't be considered in this list; he is practically a death god. Foes and friends are afraid of him. Then we have Silver Fang (Bang) from One Punch. A sensei who is out to hunt his rogue student. He is giving that energy that literally says, “If you wish to die, then step forward”. Dude took a direct hit from an alien commander who had been obliterating cities till that point, got up, dusted himself, and stretched. Superb character design.

It would be a crime not to mention the likes of Netero from Hunter X Hunter, Awesome anime by the way. This old dude straight up walks around with Nuke in his heart. And that is not a figurative talk. He literally blows up the villain with the Nuke in his heart as a last resort. The entire discussion between Merume and Netero during their fight is another beautiful touch. Imagine being the King of an evolved species and still being talked down to by a mere human.

One Piece has a whole battalion of them, like Garp, Rayleigh, Whitebeard, Sengoku.. And who can forget Jirayaa from Naruto? Master Roshi from DBZ. They are some really awesome characters.
