Cine TV Contest: Gypsy 83 a film about a beautiful friendship

I value friendship a lot, but growing up is also realizing that friendship is never perfect, it is not necessary to be the same as the other, simply accept the other as they are and be able to trust the other person in a certain way, that is why I love the movie Gypsy 83 because it addresses the theme of friendship between two young people who seem to have a lot in common, but at the same time are different and at a given moment they can have conflict between them but always end up fixing things.

Valoro muchísimo la amistad, pero crecer es también darse cuenta que la amistad nunca es perfecta, no es necesario ser igual al otro, simplemente aceptar al otro tal como es y poder de cierto modo confiar en la otra persona, por eso me encanta la película Gypsy 83 porque aborda el tema de la amistad entre dos jóvenes que parecieran tener mucho en común, pero que al mismo tiempo son diferentes y en un momento dado pueden llegar a tener conflicto entre ellos pero siempre termina arreglando las cosas.

The film is about Gypsy, a girl of about 25 years old, and Clive, a little younger at 18. They are passionate about the gothic subculture but have not gone much beyond their town, so they have not had direct contact with other people who have the same musical and aesthetic interests. However, upon learning of a festival dedicated to their idol Stevie Nicks in New York, they embark on a journey mostly motivated by Gypsy's desire to become a singer, while also inspired by her mother, who disappeared from her life and that of her father many years ago in pursuit of her musical dreams.

La película trata sobre Gypsy una chica de unos 25 años y Clive un poco mas joven al tener 18 años, ellos son apasionados por la subcultura gótica pero no han salido mucho mas allá de su pueblo, por lo cual no han tenido contacto directo con otras personas que tengan sus mismos intereses musicales y estéticos, sin embargo al enterar de un festival dedicado a su ídolo Stevie Nicks en Nueva York, emprenden un viaje mayormente motivado por las ganas de Gypsy de convertirse en cantante, a la vez inspirada en su madre quien desapareció de su vida y la de su padre hace muchos años en busca de sus sueños musicales.

I think the most important thing about the film is about the journey they undertake together and the adventures they live in it, it seems to be a journey towards self-discovery and the resolution to become true adults, along the way they meet a young man who asks them for a ride because he is fleeing from an Amish life, this character although not the main one is going to plant for the first time a different feeling in the friendship of the protagonists, because both are attracted to the same boy, but he rejects Clive and instead is attracted to Gypsy, she reciprocates and has a sexual encounter, but after this the boy seems sorry and decides to return, but in the middle of these events Clive has his first encounter with another boy who was in the same nearby place where they are staying, obviously the first sexual experience of both protagonists marks a moment of emotional decline for both, but after that they both offer comfort and understand that their friendship is much more important.

Creo que lo más importante de la película se trata del viaje que emprenden juntos y de las aventuras que viven en este, pareciera ser un viaje hacia el propio autodescubrimiento y la resolución de convertirse un verdaderos adultos, en el camino se encuentran un joven que les pide un aventón porque viene huyendo de una vida amish, este personaje aunque no es principal va a plantar un por primera vez un sentimiento diferente en la amistad de los protagonistas, pues ambos se sienten atraídos por el mismo chico, pero este rechaza a Clive y en cambio tiene atracción por Gypsy, esta le corresponde y tiene un encuentro sexual, pero después de esto el chico parece arrepentido y decide regresar , pero en el intermedio de estos sucesos Clive tiene su primer encuentro con otro chico que se encontraba en el mismo lugar cercano donde se hospedan, obviamente la primera experiencia sexual de ambos protagonistas marca un momento de declive emocional para ambos, pero después de ello ambos se ofrecen consuelo y entienden que su amistad es mucho más importante.

It might seem like a simple plot about young people just beginning their adulthood, but in a way I can't help but feel empathy for the protagonists who find themselves in difficult times, Gypsy on the one hand ends up describing the truth about her missing mother which is not a little tragic, later on she decides to follow her dreams in New York, both friends separate but with the promise of meeting again, because Clive must return to town, but this promise and the confidence that their friendship will remain strong in the future makes me smile, because from my own experience I know that best friends can go years without seeing each other and still be the same when they meet again.

Pareciera una trama simple de jóvenes empezando apenas sus etapas de adultez, pero en cierto modo no dejo de sentir empata por los protagonistas quienes se encuentran en momentos difíciles, Gypsy por un lado termina describiendo la verdad sobre su madre desaparecida la cual no es un poco trágica, más adelante decide de forma determinada seguir sus sueños en Nueva York, ambos amigos se separan pero con la promesa de volverse a encontrar, pues Clive debe regresar al pueblo, pero esta promesa y la confianza de que su amistad seguirá siendo fuerte en futuro me hace sonreír, pues por experiencia propia se que los mejores amigos pueden pasar años sin verse y seguir siendo iguales cuando se vuelven a encontrar.
