CineTV Contest: Pokemon the movie- an amazing experience from my childhood
Saludos amantes del cine, esta es mi participación al CineTV Contest #18: Your Favorite Animated Feature Film , cuando leí el título del concurso pensé que esta sería una decisión difícil de tomar, es decir hay muchas películas animadas que me gustan y además todas tienen motivos diferentes a las otras, algunas me gustan por al calidad de su animación, otras por el abordaje de temas sociales vigentes además como representación de minorías y temas importantes en el mundo, algunas de estas películas animadas las vi estando adulta y pude apreciar detalles que generalmente no hubiese pensado cuando niña, mientras que otras se quedaron en mi mente solo por el hecho de ser divertidas o de hacerme llorar en cierta y determinada escena, sin embargo, cuando leí las bases del concurso la decisión fue clara para mi y esta resultó ser una opción que no me había pasado por la mente de forma inmediata, les hablaré de la Película de Pokemon y por qué para mí fue tan importante en mi niñez.
Greetings movie lovers, this is my participation in the CineTV Contest #18: Your Favorite Animated Feature Film, when I read the title of the contest I thought that this would be a difficult decision to make, that is, there are many animated films that I like and also they all have reasons different from the others, some I like for the quality of their animation, others for the approach to current social issues as well as representation of minorities and important issues in the world, some of these animated films I saw as an adult and I was able to appreciate details that generally I would not have thought as a child, while others stayed in my mind just because they were funny or made me cry in a certain scene, however, when I read the rules of the contest the decision was clear to me and this turned out Being an option that hadn't immediately crossed my mind, I'll talk about the Pokemon Movie and why it was so important to me growing up.
Esta comunidad trata de cine, pero valoro el hecho de que no sólo se trata de las películas en sí misma sino también de nuestras experiencias con estas, Pokemon es importante para mi porque fue la primera película que vi en el cine de forma consciente a mis 9 años. Era el año 1998 cuando la fiebre de la serie animada de Pokemon estaba en pleno apogeo, yo era fan de esta serie y todo lo que hablaba era de pokemon y hacía que mi mamá me comprara peluches y álbumes de stickers de los personajes, me sentí orgullosa de aprender los nombres de los 150 Pokemon registrados en la serie y compartía esta afición con un primo que era unos 3 años mayor que yo.
This community is about movies, but I appreciate the fact that it's not just about the movies themselves but also about our experiences with them, Pokemon is important to me because it was the first movie that I consciously saw in the theater in my 9 years. It was the year 1998 when the Pokemon animated series fever was in full swing, I was a fan of this series and everything I talked about was pokemon and made my mom buy me stuffed animals and sticker albums of the characters, I felt proud to learn the names of the 150 Pokemon recorded in the series and shared this hobby with a cousin who was about 3 years older than me.
Yo vivo en una ciudad muy pequeña que tenia una sola sala de cine llamada el Teatro Colonial, este era un teatro pequeño construido en una antigua casa colonial de mi ciudad en pleno casco histórico, yo solo había asistido una sola vez al cine, estando muy pequeña me llevaron a ver la película Aladin y me quedé dormida y no entendí nada en es momento , luego de eso nunca más me llevaron al cine, las películas las veía en la televisión y cuando mi primo iba y alquilaba un VHS y yo veía películas con el en la casa de mi tía.

Cuando se estrenó la película Pokemon yo tenía muchos deseos de ir al cine, en ese tiempo hasta leía los anuncios del cine en el periódico, le insistía a mi mamá que me llevara pero ella me decía que no podía hacerlo porque la función era a las 7 de la noche y a mi papá no le gustaba conducir de noche, yo me sentía muy triste pero afortunadamente una compañera de estudios de mi hermana 4 años mayor y compañera también de mi primo nos invitó, lograron convencer a mi mamá de que yo fuera a la ver la película con mi hermana, mi primo y la amiga de mi hermana, porque sus padres nos llevarían y buscarían en el cine.
When the Pokemon movie was released I really wanted to go to the movies, at that time I even read the movie ads in the newspaper, I insisted my mom take me but she told me she couldn't do it because the show was at 7 at night and my father did not like to drive at night, I felt very sad but fortunately a classmate of my sister, 4 years older and also a companion of my cousin, invited us, they managed to convince my mother that I go to to see the movie with my sister, my cousin and my sister's friend, because their parents would take us and look at the cinema.
En aquel tiempo Pokemon era tan importante para los niños adolescente como lo es actualmente las películas de Marvel, porque la entrada al cine estaba llena de personas, las entradas se agotaban fácilmente e incluso como la sala del teatro era pequeña dejaban que más persona entraran a la sala y se sentaran en todos los pasillos que eran para caminar, parecía un concierto de una banda de rock, todos buscando un pequeño espacio donde poder sentarse en el suelo y ver la película.

A mis 9 años nunca había estado en un lugar con tantas personas, empezó la función y la canción de inicio de la película era el mismo opening de la serie animada, dicho recuerdo aún me eriza la piel, no se cuantas personas estaban en esa sala pero todas cantaban la canción al mismo tiempo y con mucha pasión, yo estaba teniendo una experiencia única en ese momento.
At 9 years old I had never been in a place with so many people, the show started and the opening song of the movie was the same opening of the animated series, that memory still gives me goosebumps, I don't know how many people were in that room but they all sang the song at the same time and with a lot of passion, I was having a unique experience at that moment.
La trama de la película es algo muy conocido, pero recuerden que era el año 1998, la película trata sobre Mew y Mewtwo, el segundo es un clon modificado genéticamente a partir del primero, este fue creado por el Equipo Rocket es decir una organización criminal que busca financiamiento de manera ilegal para controlar al mundo, Metwo al ser un clon y poseer habilidades y poderes superiores al original, al enterase de que solo fue creado como un arma, destruye a sus creadores, este tiende a tener pensamientos muy filosóficos sobre si mismo, sobre su existencia, al ser creado de forma artificial que no tiene un pasado o familia, ve el mundo de una forma en que los humanos utilizan a los pokemon a su servicio, en una relación de amo y esclavo, es entonces cuando el decide crear una especie de revolución en contra de los humanos, viéndose a el mismo un entrenador Pokemon, creando clones mejorados de las especies existentes, por supuesto que esto cambia cuando en sus planes conoce al protagonista de serie Ash quien al oponerse a su plan le da a entender que los humanos aman a los pokemon y que no todos son malos como los científicos que le dieron vida a Mewtwo.

Como se dieron cuenta es una película que tiene una trama muy interesante, por un lado expone como la ciencia tiene un margen o límite ético cuando se trata de los seres vivos, también aborda el tema de la vida misma y el vacío existencial que representa la falta de ancestros, también es una tema ecológico y por supuesto es un tema sensible, de amor y respeto a la vida de cualquier especie , todo en una película dirigida a un público infantil, esto para mi mente de 9 años era lo más genial e interesante del mundo.
As you realized, it is a film that has a very interesting plot, on the one hand it exposes how science has an ethical margin or limit when it comes to living beings, it also addresses the issue of life itself and the existential emptiness that life represents. lack of ancestors, it is also an ecological issue and of course it is a sensitive issue, of love and respect for the life of any species, all in a film aimed at a child audience, this for my 9-year-old mind was the coolest and interesting in the world.
En la escena más importante de la película Ash es atacado y convertido en piedra, su más querido pokemon Pikachu pretende despertarlo dando doble choques eléctricos pero todo es en vano, cuando la pelea entre los pokemon originales y sus clones llega a un punto en que las fuerzas están tan parejas que nadie puede ganar, todos los demás pokemon ven como Pikachu trata desesperadamente de revivir a su entrenador Ash, todos lloran y las lágrimas de todos los pokemon reviven al protagonista, no se pueden imaginar como estaba el teatro de mi ciudad en ese momento, todas las personas que estaban al principio cantando estaban convertidas en un mar de lagrimas, yo lloré hasta que no pude más.
In the most important scene of the movie Ash is attacked and turned into stone, his most beloved pokemon Pikachu tries to wake him up by giving him double electric shocks but everything is in vain, when the fight between the original pokemon and their clones reaches a point where the forces are so even that no one can win, all the other pokemon see how Pikachu desperately tries to revive his trainer Ash, everyone cries and the tears of all the pokemon revive the protagonist, they cannot imagine how the theater of my city was in At that moment, all the people who were singing at the beginning were turned into a sea of tears, I cried until I couldn't anymore.
Esta película para mi siempre será la mejor película animada bien por sí misma sino por la que la experiencia en el cine fue única e irrepetible, dudo mucho que actualmente algo como esto se repita y es por eso que valoro mucho este recuerdo.
For me, this film will always be the best animated film, not only for its own sake but also because the experience in the cinema was unique and unrepeatable. I highly doubt that something like this will be repeated today and that is why I value this memory very much.
