Saludos. Con el regreso de mi internet he podido ver algunas películas y series que tenía pendientes. Una de ellas es Black Mirror, que la había dejado estacionada al final de la segunda temporada.
En tres días pude ver los seis capítulos de la tercera temporada y me gustó mucho el enfoque que le dan a los problemas derivados del mal uso de las tecnologías actuales.
La reseña la voy a centrar en el último capítulo, un especial de hora y media de duración llamado “Hated In The Nation”.
La historia está planteada a modo de thriller, comienza con la extraña muerte de una famosa periodista del Reino Unido. Todo parece indicar que ha sido asesinada por su esposo, pero en la autopsia aparece un extraño objeto en su cerebro, una abeja robótica de las que abundan en el país.
Para ese momento los cambios ambientales han producido la desaparición de las abejas, las que son imprescindibles para la continuidad de la vida en el planeta. Ante este gigantesco problema se buscó la solución tecnológica y se crearon millones de pequeños robots con forma de abejas, capaces de continuar el proceso de polinización.
Al primer asesinato, le sigue otro, y al igual que en el caso de la periodista se encuentra una pequeña abeja robótica en el cuerpo de la víctima.
Dos asesinatos con características similares no es casualidad, seguramente que forman parte de un patrón. Y basado en esa conclusión la investigadora jefa de homicidios y su ayudante, una novata experta en tecnología digital, comienzan sus investigaciones.
Atando cabos llegan a la conclusión que los sistemas de control de las abejas ha sido hackeados por un antiguo empleado que formó parte de los equipos científicos que las diseñaron. Se emprende entonces una cacería para tratar de dar con el culpable y poder detener el uso de las abejas con fines destructivos, lo principal es evitar que se sigan produciendo asesinatos. Pero la pericia policial no podrá evitar que el hacker se salga con las suyas…
El capítulo me pareció ingenioso, entretenido, y capaz de generar muchas reflexiones...
Una de los temas que plantea es como la producción de una tecnología no es algo inocente, siempre puede haber segundas intenciones, y puede darse el caso que la tecnología se use para cosas distintas a las que se declaran públicamente.
En este caso las abejas se crean por una necesidad ambiental, para evitar la catástrofe que significaría la muerte del mundo vegetal por falta de polinización.
Un motivo como ese tiene total aceptación, todos lo apoyan, nadie se va a oponer a que se desarrolle esa tecnología. Sin embargo, desde las altas esferas del Estado se aprovecha la situación para crear un excelente sistema de vigilancia. A cada abeja se le coloca una cámara diminuta que envía datos para el reconocimiento facial de las personas. Todos son vigilados, en cualquier parte y a toda hora.
En el capítulo no queda claro si una de las motivaciones del Hacker fue poner al descubierto al Estado, y que todos se enteraran de ese otro uso que se le daba a las abejas. Lo que sí está claro es que sin esa capacidad de reconocimiento facial no se hubiese podido enfilar las abejas hacia objetivos específicos.
Otro asunto que queda en el tapete es la vulnerabilidad de tecnologías como esas, donde cualquier persona con los conocimientos necesarios puede violentar un sistema para usarlo como le dé la gana.
También encierra el capítulo una lección moral. Las personas que van a ser atacados por las abejas se eligen por votación popular mediante un Hashtag que se pone a circular en las redes sociales. Pero esto no lo sabe nadie.
Aquí se explota la respuesta visceral de la gente. Todos creen que están participando en una especie de juego donde le desean la muerte virtual a cualquiera que consideren indeseable, puede ser un periodista, un cantante, una figura del mundo político, o sencillamente un hijo de vecino que se atrevió a hablar mal de una minoría…La gente vota y al final del día el que tenga más votos será atacado por una abeja…
Y ahí viene la gran lección que quiere dejar el capítulo. Al final el hacker hará que las abejas ataquen a los cientos de miles de personas que participaron en esas votaciones. Aquí hay una gran advertencia que va dirigida a la ligereza con que la gente actúa en las redes sociales, protegidos bajo el paraguas del anonimato. El mensaje es claro: tengan cuidado con lo que expresan en las redes sociales porque en algún momento puede generar consecuencias…
La trama me pareció bien pensada, es bastante verosímil. Se nota que los creadores y guionistas han reflexionado sobre esos temas y se han asesorado lo suficiente como para no dejar grandes lagunas en la narración. La producción es bastante aceptable, sobre todo tomando en cuenta que está pensada para la pantalla pequeña.
Esta tercera temporada estuvo muy bien. Si les gustan series como esta donde se avizoran escenarios relacionados con el desarrollo tecnológico, no lo piensen mucho, denle un visionado, está disponible en Netflix. Se las recomiendo.

But the police expertise will not be able to prevent the hacker from getting away with it...
I found the chapter witty, entertaining, and able to generate many reflections....
One of the issues it raises is how the production of a technology is not something innocent, there can always be ulterior motives, and it may be the case that the technology is used for things other than those that are publicly declared.
In this case, bees are created out of environmental necessity, to avoid the catastrophe that would mean the death of the plant world due to lack of pollination.
Such a motive is fully accepted, everyone supports it, no one will oppose the development of this technology. However, from the high spheres of the State, the situation is taken advantage of to create an excellent surveillance system. Each bee is fitted with a tiny camera that sends data for facial recognition of people. Everyone is watched, everywhere and at all times.
It is not clear from the chapter whether one of the Hacker's motivations was to expose the State, and let everyone know about this other use of the bees. What is clear is that without this facial recognition capability it would not have been possible to focus the bees on specific targets.
Another issue that remains on the table is the vulnerability of technologies such as these, where anyone with the necessary knowledge can violate a system to use it as they please.
The chapter also contains a moral lesson. The people who are going to be attacked by the bees are chosen by popular vote through a Hashtag that is circulated on social networks. But no one knows this.
Here people's visceral response is exploited. Everyone thinks they are participating in a kind of game where they wish virtual death to anyone they consider undesirable, it can be a journalist, a singer, a figure of the political world, or simply a neighbor son who dared to speak ill of a minority...People vote and at the end of the day the one who has more votes will be attacked by a bee....
And there comes the great lesson that the chapter wants to leave. In the end the hacker will make the bees attack the hundreds of thousands of people who participated in those votes. There is a big warning here that is aimed at the lightness with which people act on social networks, protected under the umbrella of anonymity. The message is clear: be careful with what you express on social networks because at some point it can generate consequences....
The plot seemed to me well thought out, it is quite plausible. You can tell that the creators and screenwriters have thought about these issues and have taken enough advice to not leave big gaps in the narrative. The production is quite acceptable, especially considering that it is intended for the small screen.
This third season was very good. If you like series like this one where scenarios related to technological development are foreshadowed, don't think too much, give it a viewing, it is available on Netflix. I recommend it.

Esta serie esta muy recomendada y de hecho, la tengo en mi lista por ver, por las múltiples y buenas opiniones que le leído de ella. La tecnología, bien utilizada, es una bendición. Saludos amigo, una serie que me llaman mucho la atención y la tengo pendiente para ver, donde es fascinante cómo lograr unir e incluir muchos detalles que permite que sea muy llamativa, además la tensión va subiendo a medida que pasan los capítulos y cada uno deja algo, así que la buscaré más tarde y esta reseña que nos compartes esta muy buena.

Esta serie la visto recomendada en varias páginas, e visto anuncios pero no me he animado a verla. El género thriller no es mi favorito pero si he visto algunas producciones y me han gustado, así que este puede ser el caso.
