Armie Hammer's new political thriller "Crisis" really grabbed me with its electric intensity and prescience.

Directed by Nicholas Jarecki with a controlled chaos, it burrows deep under the skin to expose complex moral dilemmas with our world in flux.

Gary Oldman shines brighter than ever as a morally ambiguous industrialist whose actions could tip the scales of power globally.

Evangeline Lilly is icily compelling as his aide caught between allegiance and awakening conscience. Their dance of wills is riveting.

But perhaps most shocking is how eerily familiar the labyrinthine plot grows. It holds an uncomfortable mirror to society's reliance on invisible forces

While not an easy watch, its confrontational themes ensure it will haunt and spur discussion long after the closing credits.

Stylistically audacious yet anchored by seasoned performances, "Crisis" elevates the thriller genre to thoughtful art. A bracing watch that could cement Jarecki's reputation.

Hands down one of the most incisive and chilling glimpses into present fault lines I've seen this year. Do not miss it.
