The new Agatha Christie adaptation "Death on the Nile", directed by veteran filmmaker Kenneth Branagh, was a real cinematic event in 2022.

After the success of "Murder on the Orient Express", Branagh puts his theatrical stamp on another classic of mystery literature.

What struck me most is the stellar cast, headed by Branagh himself, Gal Gadot, Armie Hammer and Annette Bening.

The chemistry between so many stars on a glamorous cruise through Egypt guarantees the quality of the dialectic confrontation so indispensable in any good whodunit.

No detail is lost in the lavish production and period setting.

Branagh gives us another masterclass in psychological suspense and poisoned dialogue that leaves the audience breathless, as only he knows how.

Although it was not among the films of the year in terms of awards, it was a box office success, grossing over 121 million dollars.
