I've always found spy films fascinating when they balance fast-paced action and layered characters. "The 355" delivers on both counts.

Directed by Simon Kinberg, it uses an all-star cast of women led by Jessica Chastain, Penélope Cruz and Diane Kruger to elevate the spy saga to new levels of adrenaline.

From the opening sequences, Chastain's talent for leading impossible missions is evident, and each actress brings unique nuances to her elite spy.

But without a doubt, what I most welcome is Kinberg's ability to give the plot juicy geopolitical layers without being didactic. Everything flows organically.

Visually, "The 355" makes an impact, from the spectacular action scenes to the impeccable table-top photography that provides a frenetic pace.

It will undoubtedly remain a worthy female genre benchmark, ideal for espionage marathons. A film as entertaining as it is powerful.

I'm glad that big studio cinema is backing these heroines. My warmest recommendation for lovers of intelligent action.
