The new Italian comedy-drama "Il filo invisibile" directed by Marco Simon Puccioni presents a warm and nuanced look at parenthood.

With his cast led by Filippo Timi and Francesco Scianna, Puccioni explores the challenges of two gay friends who decide to become separate fathers.

Timi shines in his role as Simone, a designer who turns to surrogacy to fulfil his dream of fatherhood. And Scianna brings tenderness and humour as Levo, a teacher who adopts a child but has not yet found a partner.

With his sharp dialogue and never moralising perspective, Puccioni explores the different ways of building a family today. And he leaves room to celebrate bonds beyond the norms.

Technically, his choral scenes convey warmth. And he knew how to find the right point of comedy without losing sight of emotionality.

An optimistic and necessary look in these times. Another independent Italian production that brings diversity and joy.
