The epic based-on-true events film "Thirteen Lives" has been able to move me in a way that the rescue biopic genre rarely does.
Under the direction of Ron Howard, the story of the dizzyingly successful 2018 Thai cave rescue is conveyed with shocking intensity and verisimilitude.
The ensemble cast, led by Viggo Mortensen and Colin Farrell, play the heroes involved with an emotional delivery that transfixes the screen.

Every second of the underground odyssey is recreated with a technical mastery worthy of the best action blockbusters.
But what I admire most is how Howard manages to make the viewer suffer, celebrate and cry along with the protagonists.
An overwhelming depiction of the best of the human spirit in life and death situations.
