What Women Want, an entertaining movie

I'm not a big fan of this kind of movies but from the beginning, I felt tenderness for the story of Nick, a self-confident publicist but disconnected from the true emotions of women, something common to our gender.

Until an accident opened his eyes to understand them in a magical way.

Watching his learning process was a gift. How he went from selfishness to valuing them and respecting their perspectives with each lesson.

His partner Darcy, played by the sweet Helen Hunt, was his perfect guide.

What I celebrated most was the combination of laughter and reflection. In between funny scenes, she reminded us that the differences between men and women lie in listening to each other with our hearts.

I was moved to see how Nick finally understands that true love listens to the other, not dictates over them, a hopeful message for all of us who are still afraid to open ourselves to honest dialogue.

Surely this film reminds us that, by uniting in our differences rather than our similarities, we can succeed in love as well as in life.

So many reasons I like this movie. Has a great story, of course. I like the Chicago location with Marshall Fields when it was still Marshall Fields and not Macy's. Nothing against Macy's but that's New York not Chicago. Anyway. this is one I've watched several times and will watch again.
