Synopsis

A little girl dances to Swan Lake. An ordinary girl? No, the daughter of someone rich and powerful enough to pay a handsome ransom of 5 million.
So a group of mercenaries is selected to kidnap the child.

But once they arrive at the hideout, a mansion as old as it is strange, the story takes a completely different turn when the mercenaries are trapped inside.

A fine line-up of familiar faces in this surprising, "behind closed doors" thriller. And Angus Cloud's final role too.

My opinion

I went into this film without any preconceptions, it was supposed to be an action film about a kidnapping, but I hadn't seen any trailers.
I really hesitate to tell you about the heart of the film, but all the ‘trailers’ talk about it, so it's not really spoliating to reveal that I was very pleasantly surprised when in the end this film is in the same genre as ‘From Dusk till Dawn’ for those who knew it.

So, if you're a sensitive soul, don't watch it, or get into the arms of your better half to take the brunt of it, because once the action starts, there's no stopping it and it's violent and gory.

I liked Kevin Durand, whom I got to know in Stargate, in his role as Lord Zipacna. Matthew Goode and Giancarlo Esposito, on the other hand, each have a shorter role than usual, but they're important nonetheless...

In short, a fine distribution for a film of this genre, and the effects are rather successful. One effect in particular is a tad cartoonish, looking like something out of Diablo and his demon hunter, but I'll say no more.

Ah well, I've managed to describe the film without spoiling the main plot, so watch it and let me know what you think 😇. As for me, I had a great time ...

Synopsis

Une fillette, danse sue le lac des cygnes. Une fille ordinaire ? Non, la fille visiblement de quelqu'un de suffisamment riche et puissant que pour payer une belle rançon de 5 millions.
Un groupe de mercenaire est donc sélectionné pour kidnapper l'enfant.

Mais une fois arrivé à la planque, un manoir aussi vieux qu'étrange, l'histoire prend une toute autre tournure lorsque les mercenaires y sont pris au piège.

Distribution

Un belle série de têtes connues, pour ce huis clos surprenant. Et le dernier rôle de Angus Cloud également.

Mon avis

J'ai commencé ce film sans apriori, cela devait être un film d'action sur un kidnapping, je n'avais vu aucune bande annonce.
J'hésite vraiment à vous parler du coeur du film, mais toutes les "bandes annonces" en parlent, donc ce n'est pas vraiment spolier que de vous révéler que j'ai été très agréablement surpris quand au final ce film est du même genre que "Une nuit en enfer" pour ceux qui l'ont connu.

Donc, âmes sensibles, s'abstenir, ou bien dans les bras de votre moitié pour accuser le coup, car une fois que l'action commence, elle ne s'arrête plus et est d'une violence et bien "gore".

J'ai apprécié, y compris le jeu bien niais de Kevin Durand, que j'ai appris à connaître dans Stargate, dans son role de Lord Zipacna, Matthew Goode et Giancarlo Esposito ont par contre chacun un rôle plus court qu'à leur habitude, mais tout en importance malgré tout...

Bref, une belle affiche pour un film du genre et des effets plutôt réussis. Un tantinet caricatural sur un effet en particulier, qu'on croirait sorti de Diablo et de son chasseur de démons, mais je n'en dirai guère plus.

Ah, et bien, donc , j'ai su vous décrire le film sans spoil l'intrigue principale, regardez-le et dites m'en ce que vous en aurez pensé 😇. De mon côté j'ai passé un bon moment ... 😎
