This is Pakistan’s first hand-drawn animated movie, and it seriously surprised me. The art is beautiful. The personal and human feeling made it even more special. Every frame feels like it was crafted with love. It reminded me a lot of Studio Ghibli. But it also has its own thing. I mean with its own style along with a cultural heartbeat. This is what makes it unique and new.So let’s know more about the story. I think you will love it.

Story Review:

The Glassworker story starts from a fictional town. At that time there was political unrest and war. The story follows Vincent, a young and kind-hearted glassblower, and our other main character is Alliz she is a very talented violinist and also passionate anout it. Vincent works at a glass shop with his father, while Alliz is the daughter of a strict military colonel.

Their worlds must be different. One comes from a life of hardworking background and the other from a strict and disciplined family. When they meet, something happens. It starts with a friendship but later it slowly grows into something deeper.

I really liked the chemistry and the connection between these two. There was no drama or romance. Just two young people are drawn to each other, despite everything pulling them apart. You can feel the tension between their desires and their responsibilities.

One of my favorite parts of the film is the art. Vincent’s work with glass isn’t just about creating beauty. It’s his way of surviving. Alliz’s music, It feels like a cry for freedom. The way her violin speaks when she can’t, I just loved those parts.

If I talk about the anime visual, I have to say this film is very stunning. As I told you the animation is hand-drawn. We all can feel the effort in every single frame. I don’t know how to blow a bubblegum properly, but how they blow glass in the anime is really praiseworthy. The music was also top-notch. They did a great job on the music. The happy, sad, humour everything goes on another level with the perfect music.

The voice actors also did a wonderful job. As it's a Pakistani anime it's in urdu. The English dub was okay. But to be honest it could not deliver the emotional depth properly. If you understand urdu then you can enjoy the anime properly. But if you don't, no worries, you still can watch in English. If you enjoy the emotional depth properly, I will suggest you watch it in urdu with the English subtitles. Then you will get the proper tone of this anime.

The fact that they didn't forcefully give it a happy ending, I loved that. Oops, I don't want to give a spoiler. But yes, you will love the ending.

If you like Ghibli films, emotional stories you will love it also. Again, if you like hand printed films give The Glassworker a chance.
