Boulevard -2026 Movie Review- ~ENG / SPA~
Hello my dear cinephile friends, I hope you're all doing well. Today I want to share with you a film I decided to watch: Boulevard, a Spanish film recently released on Amazon Prime.
Hola mis queridos amigos cinéfilos, espero estén muy bien. Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes una película que me animé a ver, se trata de Boulevard la cual es una película española estrenada recientemente a través de la plataforma de Amazon Prime.
Plot / Trama
La película nos cuenta la historia de amor entre Hasley y Luke. Él es un chico con un triste pasado y envuelto en drogas, y ella es todo lo contrario sin embargo, a pesar de saber que no debe fijarse en un chico como Luke, ambos terminan perdidamente enamorados y aunque, su relación no será fácil deciden darle rienda suelta así sea a escondidas.
The film tells the love story of Hasley and Luke. He's a boy with a troubled past and a history of drug use, while she's his complete opposite. However, despite knowing she shouldn't be interested in a boy like Luke, they both end up falling deeply in love. Although their relationship won't be easy, they decide to pursue it, even if it has to be in secret.
My Opinion / Mi Opinión
I'm not usually a fan of watching movies based on Wattpad novels (I've had bad experiences with them because I haven't liked any of them), however, I think this one is worth watching. Even though it's the typical story of the good girl who falls for the bad boy and knows she shouldn't but does anyway, well, I found the story relatively nice. And although it's based on a book from the Wattpad platform and has many changes to the story, they didn't bother me, and I thought it was a very nice adaptation. I really liked the work of the actors (none of whom I knew), who portrayed each character very well and gave them a good personal touch, so on that front, I have no complaints.
Normalmente no soy fan de ver películas basadas en novelas de wattpad (tengo mala experiencia con eso porque ninguna me ha gustado) sin embargo, considero que esta se deja colar. A pesar de que es la típica historia de la chica buena que se enamora del chico malo y sabe que no debe pero aún así lo hace, bueno, la historia me pareció relativamente bonita y aunque se basa en un libro sacado de la plataforma Wattpad y tiene muchos cambios en la historia no me molestaron y me pareció una adaptación muy bonita. Me gustó mucho el trabajo de los actores (de los cuales no conocía a ninguno) los cuales trabajaron muy bien cada personaje y les dieron un buen toque personal por lo que por este lado, no me quejo.
I really liked the cinematography, as well as several of the sets and locations, especially the greenhouse scene where Hasley and Luke were seen, which I found very romantic. Something else I liked about the film was the soundtrack, since they used songs I really enjoy, and I think my favorite scene is in a record store because they show several albums by my favorite artists, haha. Although it's not the best film of the year, I'd say it's a good adaptation, and I liked that the book's author, Flor M. Salvador, was involved in the filming and creation of the movie.
La fotografía me gustó mucho así como varios escenarios y locaciones, especialmente el del invernadero dónde se veían Hasley y Luke el cual me pareció muy romántico. Algo que también me gustó de la película es el soundtrack ya que utilizaron canciones que me gustan mucho y, creo que mi escena favorita es en una tienda de vinilos ya que, muestran varios discos de mis artistas favoritos también jajaja. Aunque no es la mejor película del año, diría que es una buena adaptación y me gustó que la autora del libro Flor M. Salvador se viera envuelta en el rodaje y la creación de la película.
Well, to conclude, I confess that I initially hesitated to watch this movie because the book really made me suffer. However, I don't regret it at all because, compared to other Wattpad book adaptations I've seen, it's one of the most beautiful I've seen and it retains the messages the author wanted to convey in the book. I would like to recommend it to everyone, especially if you like teen romance movies and literary adaptations. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
Bueno para finalizar, les confieso que inicialmente dudé en ver esta película ya que, el libro realmente me hizo sufrir sin embargo, no me arrepiento porque en comparación con otras adaptaciones de libros Wattpad que he visto, ha sido de las más bonitas que he visto y conserva los mensajes que la autora quiso transmitir en el libro. Me gustaría recomendarla a todos, especialmente si les gusta las películas de romance adolescente y, adaptaciones literarias. Espero las disfruten tanto como yo.
